Geez.... don't be so hard on yourself...  400 or 500 calories isn't all that much and you have to be good to yourself once in awhile...   it's only a problem if it becomes a habit...  so... pick youself back up... dust off and get back in the game!  You'll be just fine.

You lost nearly 12 pounds in five weeks.  That is an amazing accomplishment.  You run, you have a gym routine, those are amazing accomplishments.  We all give in to temptation now and then.  Don't allow this to derail all the progress you made.  Going over your calorie goal one day isn't going to hurt you in the long run.  Be proud of what you've done so far.

You'd have to eat like 9 more to gain a pound. You'll be alright!

Since being in a deficit for so long your body wants to protect from loosing more, trying preventing more weight  loss by sending more appetite, hunger signals.. when eating asking for more until satisfied like having a bit of feast, this can be spread over more days being hungrier than usual cause your body wants to survive.

Doesn't matter if eating over a bit on some days.. look what you and your wonderful body achieved so far.

I keep the following on hand just for emergencies like this one: Lean Pockets, Smart One's or Healthy Choice Meals, Lean Cuisines. Every once in awhile I might have a day where my numbers are going to be too high by the close of day,and so I will eat a Lean Pocket for 260 calories.

I also keep an emergency supply of stuff, just in case. I have a sweet tooth, and I have found that stocking up on cans of (boiled) beets helps me. There are only 40 calories in a can of beets, and the water tastes so good. Beets have a natural sweetness, but few calories, and they have so much fiber, they will make you feel full. I add a handful of Trader Joe hemp seeds or chiaseeds. These seeds are full of protein and don't need preparation.

Dont' beat yourself up.... oh gracious no... if you don't give into those every now and then you could very well go overboard... you sound like you are doing a GREAT job... gosh I've been running and working out for more then 6 months and have only lost 6lbs..and thats WITH the help of my doctor. I feel wonderful and am so proud of myslef for working out despite only losing the 6 so I say hey if you feel like having that muffin then have it...cause pretty soon your going to get to the point where you dont even want it. I did that just today. I was at the market and thought oh this little thing of donuts sounds so good right now... I saw it said 389 calories and I thought OMG ... I would have to run/walk for almost an hr before I worked that off...no thanks its not worth it. So see... pretty soon you wont even want it. lol

Gracious, a muffin?! Don't beat yourself up over a muffin! If you are at your best friend's wedding, are you going to beat yourself up for a bite of cake? Healthy eating is HUGELY important, and you are doing exactly that! But unless you are on a doctor-prescribed auto immune or allergy-controlled diet, nearly everyone will tell you to live a bit every now and then. If we tell ourselves "No, never again, even looking at a picture of sugar cane is punishable!" then we are setting ourselves up for failure. When we have a special event or even just sample a treat, it will feel like years of good habits have been for naught, and often we tend to go overboard, and wake up the next morning in a stupor, surrounded by candy wrappers with a chocolate bunny head under the blanket.

KUDOS for losing all that weight so far! You've totally got this!

You cannot deprive yourself and hope to ever maintain weight loss.  I have done that so many times then eventually I go back to my old way of eating and it all comes back.  This time I am trying to not totally deprive myself, I workout more, I try to drink some very healthy veg protien shakes for one or two meals a day plus lots of healthy snacks.  If I know I am going to be bad I make sure I eat super good the rest of the time and so far it is working.  I don't feel like I don't get anything good, we had pizza the other night, I had one slice and that was plenty for me and I was good. Before I would have had two, maybe two and a half.  I love cucumbers and tomatoes and my garden is loaded right now so I have lots of very yummy healthy snacks with me all the time.  Don't feel to bad, just eat really healthy and you will be fine, heck you may even lose extra because of it.

I see a lot of people talking about "bad" foods, and if you have that mindset, you're going to have an unhealthy relationship with food. A slice of cake or pizza might not be exactly nutritional, but it can still be good for your soul, or even offer carbs! Eat to nourish your body and well-being, and lose the thought of "bad" and "off-limit" foods, unless of some dietary requirements. Like, cookies aren't bad! They're delicious! High in fat and calories, but your body needs those things anyway. Just make sure you're getting the rest of your nutrional needs.

Massive congrats on loosing the 11.5lbs! Smiley Happy

Don't feel bad about treating yourself, sometimes it is needed & well earned. If I have a bad day at work, or something a long those lines, my go to treat/pick me up is either some malteasers or a reeces peanut butter cup with a cup of tea lol. Smiley Happy

The thing is to know when to treat yourself & when to be restrained or pick a healthier option, & it sounds like you have that balance down. Keep up the good work!
