You can create a food by typing the name of your food into the "what did you eat column" It will say food not found and "create" food. But you would need to know how many calories it is. There are online calculators that wil let you put the ingredients in and will tell you per serving.
I personally use LoseIt. I enter all the ingredients from my recipe in there, how many servings and it tells fit bit the calories, protein and sodium. Its a more comprehensive picture I guess is what I am trying to say. The only downside is that currently you have to upgrade to premier ($40 bucks a year) for it to syn automatically. I personally don't mind because of the extras I get.
I hope this helps!

I currently use the recipe generator on MyFitnessPal to calculate calories per serving of meals. it also gives you the break down of fat/sugar/fiber etc. In that view you can change what you want to see a breakdown of based on your particular goals.
