Agreed. You don't need a trainer. Get a warrior workout book and exercise at least three times a week. Make sure you warm up for 5 min (until you feel is hard to hold a conversation while warming up); then you do your weights (in this phase for the first 20 min you will burn your energy reserve, so, if you do a 25 min workout, you probably won't see results). Do weights (with effort) for 30 min. The more muscle you build, the more calories you will burn a day. The body needs to burn more to maintain muscle. The opposite is true for fat. Then, do your abs and finish with your cardio for another 20 min. Make sure your cardio rate is in the burning fat range for your current weight and height. It is in the phase where you will actually shed fat off. Have in mind that weight loss is Cals in vs Cals out. To lose one pound you need a deficit of 3,500 cal. Example. I need 1500 a day to maintain my weight. I eat 1500 (mostly protein and greens, no sugar, no cheese or milk, no sodas, nothing fried or baked, just clean) and if I burn 350 by exercising, I should lose one pound in ten days. if I want to maintain my weight, I make sure I add those cals in my daily intake, but if I want ot lose weight, I just stick to the 1500. It is all about numbers. Track your food. Eat lean protein with healthy carbs, such us brocoli and the like. I hope this helps.

I've actually saved a lot of money on my weight loss journey! My nutritionist is one of my best friends so she charges me about $20 per weigh in; she doesn't give me an actual food plan, she just adjusts my portions to whichever our goal is at the time.
I've been buying whole foods in bulk; whole grains, fresh veggies, astounding amounts of protein and basic spices. I use my day off to pre plan, pre cook and flash freeze the food for the week and I stay on budget 95% of the time.
Walking around everywhere and doing some free Fitstar and Zumba routines in my living room really do help bump up my calorie burn. I'm also living in a 4th floor with no elevator so I get to climb the staris even when I don't want to.
Small changes in your everyday life will get you to the goals you want to reach. You can do it!
