@skeeter250 Something crunchy makes me feel as though I've had a snack. Nuts, crackers with hummus or almond butter, cereal - whatever you like to have as long as it tastes good and keeps you feeling happy. Just be careful not to overdo it in the evenings.
welcome to the forums.
Best AnswerKashi makes killer Hummus crisps--27 are only around 130 calories. Those, and two tablespoons of humus are really filling. Also, I am really hooked on Stabilyze bars from Costco--low glycemic, high fiber and protein. I cut them in quarters and use as my sweet treat. Love Pemiere Protein shakes. Meat roll ups--two slices of turkey with spicy mustard rolled around light string cheese. Filling and good nutrition.
Best AnswerProtein shakes for better control. Nuts and a few other things have high sat fat and sodium which are two of which to watch out for and easy to overeat. I bought a jar of nuts once and ate the jar. 15 servings. Very bad.
I've recently discovered the awesome satiety that fruits and veggies as snacks can provide. One snack I make is a cup of brocolli, raisons or cranberries, tomatoes and dressing (something sweet or tangy) and it's only 100 calories but VERY filling. Another bowl snack I've discovered - diced cucmber, radishes, hard boiled egg with greek yogurt. Or just apple and peanut butter, cottage cheese with fruit, carrots and hummus...
The recomended servings of fruits/veggies for someone like me is 2.5 cups veggies plus 2 cups of fruit a day. That's a lot! So if I use that as my goal and sneak it in during my snacks it keeps my calorie count down but energy level and satiety high!.
Best AnswerI can relate to that! I have had to shift my snacking away from almonds, trail mix, etc because I eat huge handfuls and it adds up to a lot of calories if I'm not careful. Now I have to mentally tell myself to only have 3 or 4 nuts at a time if I'm just grazing the kitchen,

and not 3 or 4 handfulls!
Best AnswerI used to snack a lot but these days I snack
I also like spicy food and I consume spicy puffed wheat/rice, oats baked with Indian spices etc. All reasonable quantities. Reasonable - one handful once or twice a day - Nature valley one bar.
Best AnswerTry to snack every 2-3 hours if possible. All snacks no higher than 300 calories each. I've been drinking herbalife shakes/protein shakes twice a day as a snack, and i have individual bags of pretzels set out for each day as well. Quest bars are a really good snack as well :160 calories, and 20 grams of protein per bar. Whichever snack you choose, make sure it has a lot of protein in it, for it can make you feel a lot fuller, and you'll be less likely to crave things later on in the day.
Best AnswerI think you need to research nuts a bit better. They are not salty if you prep raw nuts. I roast a combo of almonds, pecans, and pistacios. Great food value if you watch the count. I am LCHP and have lost 60 since March 27th. Seems to be working...Oh, yeah, I am a 64 year old woman.....
I am envious you can hammer so many calories. Wait until you are 64! My BMR is about 1300. I walk 6-7 miles a day, and can hammer1600 a day max if I want to keep on losing.
Best AnswerWhats the sugar and total carbs on the Quest bars? I use Pure Protein and Premier Protein Fiber bars.
Best Answerquest bars only have one sugar, and about 21 carbs
