much happier this morning ... this mornings weigh in 166.lbs ....feeling much better!! 🙂 quest bars ...ordered... 🙂 cant wait for them to come in ... going to try something new ....GU Energy Labs Brew Electrolyte Energy Drink Mix... low cal, and in sugar better than any other sports drink so it claims... to help me out with the electrolytes I loose while on the treadclimber.. excited!!! 🙂 I am 15lbs away to my " Goal " weight. If i can get there and my metabolism is where it should be if I loose another 10 I will be happy ... if I hit 15 extatic.. nothing below 150 though at 5'9! I would love to work myself up to a lean body. As I am almost 40, metabolism isnt exactly working like I was 18...Although at 18 I was 250lbs and never wan tto get there again. Any suggestions on supplements to boost energy... give me more electrolytes ( Im on the treadclimber alot ) ...bars to keep me on track at work ( run a deli cant eat that stuff ) ? excersizes ( to boost musle growth ) ...meal bars ... I guess I just need HELP! all the way around.

I would recommend focusing less on supplements, meal-replacement bars and high-priced sports drinks and more on real food. Unless you are a hardcore athlete (as in, training for a marathon), water is fine to drink during and after a workout. You can pack snacks for work, like cheese sticks and salami and granola. Meal bars are highly processed and full of sugar. I eat meal bars from time to time, but I don't rely on them.
If you're eating at a reasonable deficit and getting enough sleep, energy shouldn't be a problem.

Congratulations on your good work on the Stair climber.
I don't agree that sports fuels are always helpful if weight loss is the main goal. If the main goal is creating a body that burns fat more efficiently than glycogen for fuel then adding more sugar isn't necessarily the best option. You aren't just building muscle you are building mitochondria that burn up fat as fuels in working muscles...if you keep adding sugar to your blood stream the mitochondria don't get more efficient at burning fat. A zero calorie drink is likely the best option for all but the most insense workouts.
There is very little difference between the metabolism of a 40 year old athlete and an 18 year old athlete. Your age is not a limiting factor in your success. Most Women's strength peaks around age 32 to 35. A man your age just one the Boston Marathon. You are doing great!
