virtual hike starts 6/3

I'm starting a virtual hike of the Florida Keys tomorrow, June 3.  That way, instead of just saying I took 10,000 steps, I can say "I made it to Key West!)  I thought I'd start with the shortest trail.

 

Join me and let's post our progress and encourage each other!

I'm really enjoying this and I hope to do other trails after this one. Thank you Bobbi for introducing this site. I view it under "fitbit friends". Is that where we should be viewing it?

Day 3 and I have walked 7.8 miles (though I think they included the previous day).  Not nearly as much as I thought.  So why am I so tired?  I did 1 1/2 this morning, going out for another 2 soon.  Where are you guys on the trail??

Joy, I'm so low tech.  I wish I knew the answer to that.  Fitbit friends makes sense.  But, being me, I don't know how to do that?  I just looked at the walking4fun web page, logged in, and did 'my walk'.  

I'll do whatever you suggest.

By the way, so far Key West isn't as romantic as Hemingway portrayed, to say the least!

Looks like I have 1 more mile and I'm at Ramrod Key. I'm 6.3 miles into Stage 4.

Bobbi, Look under your map. I think all the way to the right, one of the options is "Fitbit Friends" if you click on it.

But I got some good steps in today, walking to yoga, walking back and then going window shopping... 7731 steps. 

 

Now the bad news is that I am PMSing and HAD to have cake! As in Pasteis di Nata and a CAnoli! Ugh.... Considering that I am doing the French/Spanish Trail I should have picked a local desert. but hey.... 

 

Sooo... I have almost done the first stage of the Camino Trail. From St. Jean to Roncesvalles. 15.6 miles and I am missing 0.6 miles to arrive at the first destination. Might be able to get those 0.6 miles done tonight when walking my dog. LOL

 

Keep walking everyone! It's great to see your successes!!

Hi, I created a group called 6/3 Virtual Hike. It is available for anyone to join. You should be able to click under "groups" and see it there. If you can't find that, just get in touch with me with your Walk4Fun user name and I will add  you. Hope it's ok Bobbi that I set this up.

Joy, of course it's ok.  I'm glad you are doing this.  I love the idea but am too low tech for this.  Thanks for taking charge of it.

I walked 5000 this morning, which is very good for me.  Hopefully another walk later.  It still feels like way more than it is.

Hi Bobbi. I couldn't find you either. On the top you should see the groups button. You can click on it and see virtual hike 6/15

Right under Walking4Fun are 4 tabs. One is friends. Click on Friends and under that is Group. Click on our group.

5,000 is great! I'm happy if I can walk without pain as I have a problem with a muscle in my calf. Hopefully, you can find the group I set up.

Found it! I joined. So far there are 3 of us and Joy is way ahead. Vanessa, how did you catch up so fast? I really do need to step it up a bit. How much do you guys walk each day??

LOL I downloaded some great walking music from iTunes then basically walked on the spot and around the house for an hour (off-and-on). I was determined to start the week with my first 10k step day. (I had music in one ear while watching/listening to TV at the same time). It worked! Little harder than I thought it would be but felt great when my little fitbit buzzed me!
