I'm starting a virtual hike of the Florida Keys tomorrow, June 3. That way, instead of just saying I took 10,000 steps, I can say "I made it to Key West!) I thought I'd start with the shortest trail.
Join me and let's post our progress and encourage each other!

I've noticed that there isn't as many pictures, on the Pacific Trail, as there was on the Keys trail.

I noticed the lack of pictures too. A little disappointing. Maybe when it gets prettier later?
I've been walking more too. Great weather for it. I did over 10,000 yesterday and my foot only felt a tiny bit sore, and this morning it feels good. I'm going to take it easy for a couple of days to make sure - I am very afraid of not being able to walk at all again. How is your calf/foot holding up?
By the way, I checked - for some reason your friend request never came through. I'll see if I can send you one (after my morning walk!)

Terrific Bobbi that you've been walking more. Only a tiny bit sore is just terrific. My calves are great now with no pain at all. My right foot is a little weird feeling with the orthotics but it feels like it is getting better. The PT suggests that I do more exercises for the muscles in my arch such as picking up marbles with my toes and scrunching up a towel with my toes. I'm going to try to friend you again. Let's see....

When I try to friend you it says, "Request sent", so I guess you will have to friend me. Click on my name, then profile. You should see a spot that says, "Send friend request", or something similar.

Hi all,
Sorry I'm so late to the game! Finally started the PC trail...I expect Joy to pass me any minute now. 🙂

Kinda weird that you reply to someone from an email notification, but it doesn't show that here. That was in reply to Chananigans.

Joy, I didn't know that you could even reply via email! Learn something new every day.
To answer your question: HECK NO I do not run! Running is my least favorite thing ever. I'm known as the "sleeper cell" among my coworkers (we always do the workweek hustle together) because I get very few steps Monday & Tuesday...then on Wednesday I have a dance fitness class, followed by 2 dance fitness classes on Thursday (so I usually jump from last to first on day 4). Friday, I'm back to my rather lethargic self. 🙂

I don't know why the funky stuff shows up when I respond to a post via cell phone. Apologies!

Oh! Here I thought you were a runner. Sounds like the fitness classes are great. What do they do in them? I've been thinking that I'd like to try Zumba but haven't yet. Maybe one day when the weather is yucky. Our weather has been just spectacular!

I am mile 6.5 today of the PCT. I got slowed down by illness. BUT I fought back today and managed over 8 miles, still coughing today and trying to take care..but I just had to get back to steppin after managing very little all week! Keeps me motivated seeing how far I have come 😄

If your weather is great, then by all means take advantage! I'm in Ohio, where it has rained 20 out of the past 22 days...so my movement is somewhat limited. I have two Zumba classes - one at the gym in my neighborhood and one at work. The other class is a cardio hip-hop class. I suppose dance fitness is my thing. 🙂
Here's an example of an awesome dance fitness channel that is similar to what I do every week: https://www.youtube.com/user/FitnesswithJessica

Doesn't take long at all! A lot of it is repetition - just following what the instructor does. Nothing too difficult though - just remembering what to do and when (which is why we follow the leader).
I used to do it in undergrad, then again occasionally when I moved to this neighborhood 2 years ago. I've been much more consistent with it since May though; the classes are in the evenings and I'm in graduate school with all evening classes, so it's a hit or miss as to if I can actually attend. Taking this & next semester off though, so I'll be doing it through December for sure!

I don't blame you! I did the same in undergrad. 🙂
I'm working on my Master's in Human Resource Management, expecting to graduate in 2017. I took one semester in autumn as a non-degree seeking student, so I'm skipping the upcoming autumn semester as well. The classes are lock-step, so I'll need two more spring semesters no matter what. No amount of courses taken this or next semester will get me to walk across that stage any earlier!

I love the beautiful weather in Autumn. It will be a great time of year to not have the stress of school!

Well the pictures were more plentiful today and prettier. I wish I was really walking on that trail!
