Does anyone have an issue with the calcualtions for "total weight loss"? I have been communicating unsuccesfully with the fitbit support team about the formula used for calculating total weight loss. In my case, I have lost 7.1 pounds and the website shows 4.6. I have changed settings to show "all" not just a week or a month. The "all" should subtract the current weight from the start point weight but it doesn't. Does anyone else have this issue? Is it something I'm doing wrong or does their program have a glitch? I have checked the settings and the start weight is correct and the current weight is correct as well but the calcuation is incorrect.

I have the same issue. It's super annoying having to do the mental-math for total weight loss. A little bug in their program to be sure. Seems like it would be an easy fix!

yes.. i just had to replace my flex because after 3 weeks it didnt want to hold a charge. I didnt have any issues with the web calculations before; but, i noticed with the new one the calculations are wrong. and the discrepancy is larger on the weekly calculation than the monthly.. ive lost 2.5 pounds this week but it calculated it as 1.2 with an up arrow... my monthy is 7.6 and the website calculates it at 7.2, again with an up arrow... im hoping if it realy means up the arrow would be red lol.. none the less its obviously wrong

I've got the same problem with the weight loss not being calculated properly. I'm down 2.4 and it only calcs down .03. I can't find an answer anywhere in the forums or the manual that would clarify this so I guess it is just a glitch in their program. As long as the scale keeps going down, I can live with a glitch. Everything else seems to work fine.

I'm seeing the same thing...I'm down 4.5lbs, but the weight lost calculation is only showing 3.7...
I agree that as long as the scale is going down....it's not a huge deal... but I hope they fix it because I would think this would skew the Plan Summary... (you know...the spot where it tells you how long till you reach your goal...) While I can do the math to figure out how much I lost...It is nice to know when I should hit goal...and I would think if it is underestimating amount lost, it would not be giving you a good WOO HOO date....

Still a problem a year later! No excuse for a simple program not being able to do simple subtraction or addition, and regardless of whether the change is up or down. Is a fitbit good for anything except counting steps?

I was wondering what the deal was with the math. I thought I was doing something wrong. So it's just a glitch. Makes me wonder if the steps are accurate. I mean, math should be easy!

My calculations are never right. Im down one pound and its telling me Im down a half. This isnt rocket science...whats wrong?

The only explanationt that I ever got that made sense was that it bases the calculation on a 7 day average....so it depends on which 7 days it is basing the calculation on....

Ok... this is a bug IMO; I had a starting weight on 2/4/16 of 315 pounds... now 77 days later 4/21/2016 I log my weight at 274. So, 315 subtract 274 equals 41... My fitbit dashboard shows in the Goal Progress down arrow and 26 pounds lost since 2/4.
This is important to me. I have a lareger goal ahead and want to see the total in the GOAL PROGRESS to dispaly for the start of goal minus the current... Simple math. The graph above would be fine to see the weight loss per week, 3 month... year.
Anyway to the developers please fix bug in app. Thanks!

Clearly either it's not a priority for the programmers, or they have no idea how to get their software to do simple calculations. Perhaps FitBit cares little about the customer experience and more about how to get more wearables onto the wrists of potential customers. The fact that not a single person from customer care has responded to this thread speaks volumes.
