Ability to add periods?

Would it be possible in the future to be able to add a period instead of just dragging the bar to a different week? Part of what I'm trying to track is my birth control makes my periods crazy. I had 2 last month, thought I got it this month and it ended after a day, so I'm pretty positive it will be back. But I see no way to actually add another. I was just hoping i could track long enough i have something to show my doctor if this doesn't even out.

Thanks for getting back girls @thevikingninja @SunsetRunner! Thanks for the screen shot!

If a period doesn’t meet the following requirements, you may receive an error and be unable to log the period:

  • You can only add or edit current or past periods and details.
  • A period must be at least 1 day.
  • A period must be less than 11 days. If your period is longer, consider logging flow intensity details.
  • A cycle must be at least 11 days, and there must be a gap of at least 1 day between logged periods. If you experience a gap in bleeding during your period, it’s still 1 period.

Note that If you attempt to log a period in the future or a period with less than a one-day gap between periods, the pencil icon is unavailable. If you don’t see the pencil icon, make sure the period you’re attempting to log or edit meets all of the requirements.

Hope this clarifies why the pencil might be unavailable. I'll be around, keep me posted!

Hey there @thevikingninja, it's nice to see you around here! While reading your post I think what you want is to add more than 1 period in the same month, right?

Please take a look if you haven't already. For anything else you would like to see implemented in this feature for the future, consider visiting our Feature Suggestions board. Look under the label "Female Health Tracking" for existing ideas that might match your own and vote!  Smiley Very Happy

Since this is a newly launched feature, we're always interested in ways to improve the product! Thanks for your feedback.

In the meantime, to add or edit a period:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the female health tile.
  2. Tap or click the start date of a period on the calendar.
  3. Tap or click the pencil icon to add or edit a period (you can also tap and hold a date on the calendar). If you turned on predictions, the entire period appears on the calendar based on your average period length.
  4. On the calendar, tap the first or last day of a period and then slide your finger across the dates to adjust the period length.
  5. Tap or click Save.

To delete a period:

  1. From the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click the female health tile.
  2. Tap or click a date on the calendar inside the period you want to delete.
  3. Tap or click the pencil icon.
  4. Tap or click Delete.

If you have trouble adding or editing a period, see our troubleshooting tips.

Stay cool!

There is no pencil icon! Everything I read indicates editing with the pencil icon or to tap and hold a cal dare date, neither of which is working. What’s going on? Happy to send a screenshot.

I see the pencil icon, but I can't use it. I tap it and nothing happens.

Hey there @Aleocotillo, it's nice to see you around here! Thanks for making sure your period meets all the requirements to be edited. Nice way to go!

My sister had a similar issue, her period was a day early this month. For her the current day and all future dates all had a grey pencil and could not be edited. Well, she tapped on yesterday's date which had a black pencil so she was able to edit the period like that.

So, tap on a day that has already passed, where there is a black pencil, then edit your period.

Give that a go and let me know the outcome!
