Predictions are skipping a month

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have entered the length of my period as 3 days, and cycle as being 28 days. But when it comes to my predictions, it seems to jump a month as if I only have a period every other month (i wish!!)

Can anyone help with this?

Welcome on board @df160609, it's nice to see a new member here! Woman Very Happy As you may know, Fitbit uses the data you provide to estimate your predictions. Initially, your predictions take into account the average cycle and period lengths you provide during setup, so we might have to check those details. Logging your period consistently will help you to receive more accurate predictions.

However, for what you're experiencing, I'd suggest to turn off the Predictions on the settings, force quite the app and then go back and re-enter the information on the settings and turn back on the Predictions. Make sure that the Fitbit app is up to dateRobot Very Happy

If your predictions is skipping a month, I'd like to see what is showing your calendar and the information on the settings; if you can send some screenshots that would be awesome!

Give this a shot and let me know how it goes!

It says my cycle is on day 1 of 66. It is skipping a month. The setting are correct. I tried restarting.  Please advise.

I tried turning off predictions, force closing, and turning back on and am getting a 72 day cycle. Not sure how to post a screenshot of my calendar here.

Welcome on board @Ebbiesq, it's nice to see you here! Thanks for following those steps. Nice way to go!

However, I was wondering if you re-entered the information on the settings and turn back on the Predictions? Is your Fitbit app up-to-date?Robot Very Happy

Mine is doing the same thing, saying my cycle is 58 days.

I'm having the same issue. Turning predictions off and back on again worked for the upcoming months but Fitbit still can't figure out how to count from the first date of my first logged period. It predicted my "second" period would start about 43 days out. Then, corrected to a 28-day cycle. Completely unhelpful. It doesn't even care if I Log a flow level on the actual dates I had my period.
Seems like there are lots of bugs with this. Will have to go back to my old app until they iron out these algorithms.

Thanks for jumping in here @Breezygirl8 and @Kdoyle390 (welcome to the forums!). Let's try to reset your period predictions.

In order to do so, let's do the following:

  • Always make sure that your Fitbit app is up-to-date (iOSAndroid)
  • Log out of your Fitbit app
  • Force quit the app
  • Turn off the Bluetooth
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  • Turn on the Bluetooth
  • Log back into your Fitbit app

Follow the on-screen instructions to set up female health tracking. You’ll be asked a series of questions about your menstrual cycle. The information you provide is used to make predictions about your future period and fertile windows. You can edit or update your information later.

  • On the calendar, find the approximate date your last period started.
  • To edit your average period and cycle lengths, tap the + or - icon to add or subtract days.
  • Turn on notifications if you want to receive reminders on your phone about when your period is predicted to start. For more information, see Can the Fitbit app remind me when my period will start?

Hope this helps, let me know how it goes!

Following the onscreen instructions to set up period tracking is not helpful as I already had done the initial setup and following the steps you listed did not reset the period tracking. Regardless, I have my period length and cycle length set up appropriately and the problem persists. If I go to the "Trends" tab it says that my average cycle is 34 days (why? my manually inputted cycle length is 28 days). It also lists two cycles, neither of which has the functionality to delete or edit (though I imagine if it did it would help resolve the problem).

I'm at a total loss as to why you can't update or edit dates of your period. The female body is not an automaton, these things often do not happen  on a rigid schedule. The way the tracking is set up now is completely useless if it doesn't have the functionality to update specific period dates.
I know you're not a coder for Fitbit but I think this is an issue that needs to be forwarded to those who are. I truly don't believe this is user error (probably for any of these commentors in the thread) or a glitch that can be solved by force-quitting.

I’m having this same problem and have tried everything You suggested. Is there any other ways to fix this?

many thanks

Same Problem here and none of this has fixed it

Also having this problem. I did all the above suggestions and more with no luck.

I think it’s ridiculous that Fitbit’s community manager is just regurgitating the same useless information and even more ridiculous that this has been an issue for YEARS with no fix.

Just another women’s health issue that doesn’t matter I guess.
