Past several cycles the fitbit app has taken upon it's self to randomly change when my period started. Sometimes it seems like it's because I had to manually edit my cycle because it is always wrong by about 2 to 3 days (meanwhile my primary tracking app is right give or take a day) and it just failed to save. This cycle after almost 6 months of dutiful logging it was right. Woke up this morning and it randomly changed itself to starting today instead of staying where it was, which was right so I didn't mess with it. This is incredibly frustrating. I don't want to have to up date my cycle once to twice a month because the app will randomly change it. The sliding system is very annoying to work with. Overall, I keep holding out for the female health tile to improve, but I do not find it reliable or easy to use and cannot use it as my primary tracker. It lacks in too much, including something so basic as reliable and accurate saving.

Hello there @Historyfrog! Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
While in the period tracker, go to Settings in the top right corner. It should bring up the option to remove "predictions". Turn it off, set your period then turn predictions back on. This way it seems to just put in your average period days and not what the predicted end date would've been.
Additionally, I'd recommend to take a look at the help article: How do I use the Fitbit app to track my period?
Give this a go and let me know if this works.
Was my post helpful? Give it a thumbs up to show your appreciation! Of course, if this was the answer you were looking for, don't forget to make it the Best Answer! Als...

This seems like a really dumb workaround for something that should simply work.
Like the OP, Fitbit loves to change my period dates whether I manually enter them because the prediction was off or whether I don't adjust it because the prediction was correct.
This. Is. Bonkers.
And manually turning prediction on and off again every time I have my period is freaking ridiculous. Get somebody to fix the dang thing.

Wow... This issue was raised two years ago and it's still happening. So frustrating when it seems like it's working properly, don't have to adjust anything, and a week later "you're expected to start today!". Uhhh, I hope not 🙂

Seriously! This tile use to be so accurate when it first came out and now it’s so GD irritating.
I take the time to log my period start date and make the changes from the prediction AND save those entries and then 2 weeks latter everything I had entered has been overwritten by the app. Wtf!?
In 2018 it worked well enough to know exactly when my husband and I conceived. Now it’s a complete waste of time and a source of frustration and confusion.
Please put in the work to make this function properly again.
The prediction should factor in what was entered and recalculate from the manual entry, not overwrite the manual entry to the predictive dates. The fact that weight is given to the prediction instead of the users entry is ridiculous. I feel like I’m taking crazy pills!

Exactly.... It wasn't broken. Why they felt the need to fix it is beyond me.

This is also affecting me. Every time I think my cycle is logged correctly, the app then goes and changes everything. It’s very frustrating as it worked well for months before stating to randomly change, so I’d stopped logging on my calendar.

My period gets reset by the app all the time it's so frustrating. I'm going to have to start using a different app to track my period instead because accurate period tracking is a PRETTY BIG DEAL to me and literally every other period-having person on Earth, for a million reasons. It's unbelievable Fitbit hasn't prioritized fixing this.
And also I've tried the suggestion Fitbit made in the comments to turn on/off the period predictions to reset the issue. I did that. It worked.. Until a month later when Fitbit overwrote my period dates again.

You'd think after several years of this, they'd finally fix it.
My favorite is when it's actually right, I don't change anything and then two weeks later, "you're expected to start today!" Good gracious I hope not.
