HO HO HO! My wife and I just got our FitBit Flexs and LoVe ThEm.......except trying to put it into sleep mode....it's a technique thing I'm sure, we've used the phone app and that worked fine.  I think it's about tapping it really hard!

Anyway, I had an UP by Jawbone and this is much much better......can't feel it's even on me...better app....just everything about it is better.  Not sure what the Fitness Pal thing is all about, could google it but just came in from 43 degrees and final little walk tonight to put us over our goals....

I'm 62 and 5' 10" weighing (after Christmas) 206...pretty active, we road mountain bikes today (we live in Sedona, AZ)....but with the FitBit Flex I believe I'll monitor all the big items....water, sleep, activity, calories in and out...and do a better job.  My personal goal for the next six months is to get to 180 lbs!

Look forward to being on these boards occasionally.

I had some issues day one with my software....I removed and reinstalled and it seems as if it fixed all my softward problems with the bit....

Let's hang together, so we don't hang seperately!  hahaha

Hello!!  I'm new here, as well.  I just got my FitBit for Christmas, so I've only been using it for a couple of days.  I love it!!  Looking forward to making new friends here and staying motivated 🙂

Add me to the list of Christmas fitbit recipients.  The only downside for me so far is that I'm going to have to upgrade my phone.  Currently I can access the website and update my food and water intakes etc but I can only sync my steps through the computer at home.

I'm 48 and scheduled for a knee replacement at the end of January so for me the fitbit is partly about weight control but also about monitoring my physical activity once I start on the recovery after my surgery.

For those that have had trouble sync'ing, don't forget to plug the dondle in 😉

Just getting set up with my new fitbit DH bought me for Christmas.  I am super excited about the information it will provide me with.  Looking to really meet some goals during 2014, but am getting started now!

Good attitude, @sam_i_sisifo! Plan ahead for after your surgery! Keep after your doctor and/or therapist. I fractured my knee cap last spring. Lucky for me, it was a clean break. Anyway, I kept after my doctor about steps. He finally agreed that as long as I did not try to power walk, steps were ok. He kept me to a goal of 5,000 steps/day for several weeks. We were in a partnership. I had to agree to be frank about pain levels. He agreed to let me push things a bit, as long as he was convinced I was not harming the knee. Ends up, our careful approach was the best therapy I could have had. It was a speedy recovery.

Hi Ruby... I am new to the community also.  Received my force from my sweet hubby for Christmas.  I need to lose at least 50lbs and really needed something to get me motivated!  Good Luck! 🙂

I am new too!!  I have been looking at the website, but not to crazy about logging the food.  I really like myfitnesspal it comes to logging what I am eating.  Is there a way to sync to myfitnesspal using the fitbit?

I am a new user and I have been set up since December 26th. I really do like it and it does keep me motivated because I always try to hit the goals that it has set for me. Hitting 10,000 steps a day or more is key for me.

pixieanna I think you should start a new thread about your problems.

Right now you are buried in a different message thread.

Put more details:

What FitBit you have

What Operating System

Do you have an I-Phone or Android?

You might be able to set it up through their apps.

Malking its own thread will get you more exposure.

Somebody should be able to step you through the process.

When it is too cold to walk outside, like it is now, in Michigan, I pick up my Dad and we mall walk. You would be amazed at how many people do this!

Got my Flex for Christmas, then fell sick immediately there after. Still not doing great today. My numbers are disappointing so far, hoping the New Year will start off right.

I work for an Inventory company and notice that all the major malls in NJ allow walkers before the mall opens. This allows for uninpeaded walking. On colder days when not working, or riding the uni I join them.

PS

60 is just a number.
