Best AnswerI'm new here too - just picked it up the Flex two hours ago! Excited to join the community! 😃 I used to have an ArmBand that tracked my calories, but after all of the rave reviews of this one, I couldn't resist. Plus, it was a ay to get back into the tracking calories routine....getting back on the wagon!
Best AnswerHi All,
I picked up a Fitbit at the weekend and already feel pushed to do more than I did without incentive. Previously had an UP which failed and way too much hassle to send back to US ( from Ireland ) for repair. Comparing the two device I have to say FitBit and the Community sets it apart along with dashboards.
I like some friendly competition/challenge so if anyone wants to add me as a friend that would be great.
Look forward to seeing other community insights,
Rob
Best AnswerHi everyone!
I'm new today, too. Still getting used to the feel of wearing this all the time. 10,000 steps is a lot more that I imagined! Only hit 3,000 today.
Looking for friends and motivators - feel free to add me!

My wife bought me a fitbit and it arrived today.
I learned about them from a piece that David Sedaris wrote in the New Yorker:

I am a fifth grade teacher, and I am NEVER still, so I am curious to see how many steps I actually log in a day.
Fitbit is the greatest thing ever invented and now I get into walking for charities - that's the latest thing too ! Will make you walk to a healthier self and for others ! Good luck !
Hello All! I literally just got this set up. I'm excited but I haven't done anything like this before. I admit I am not the most active person but I am hoping this will change that!
I'm new too! My son bought me a FITBIT ONE, to encourage me to shape up. I have about 100 pounds to lose. I have a treadmill I can use at home, and I have a dog to walk, and my house has stairs - so it's pretty convenient for me to up my activity level. What I really have to focus on is managing what I eat and drink. I'm starting to be very judgemental about my food intake. It's about dang time.
Good luck with your progress! Wish me luck 🙂
getting ready to get some early bird steps ! At almost 15,000 steps - then housework on a Saturday and grass cutting - looking forward to a big day !
Best AnswerHi all! i got a fitbit years ago but didn't really do much with it as I hadn't much motivation. But I'm now raring to go! Picking up my fitbit on Tuesday and can't wait to get started. Please feel free to add me as a friend as I intend to be on the forums quite a lot and well, I like chatting 🙂
Good morning!
I admit I am finding that this thing is pretty motivating! I've still not hit the 10,000 step mark, but did manage 7,000 on one day.
I jumped on our neglected treadmill yesterday and did about 15 minutes on it...I actually ran for one minute - twice! I know that sounds silly, but I have over 100 pounds to lose and I don't think I've actually run anywhere in 10 or more years.
Question to everyone - I wear it on my non-dominant hand, but have the sensitivity set to dominant. How is yours set up?
