Hi all. I ordered a Fitbit One (should arrive tomorrow) and created an account here today. I've been browsing the forum a bit and can't wait to get started with the Fitbit. My lifestyle has been sedentary for some time (I'd be surprised if my step count is more than 3,000 a day), I've gained quite a bit of weight last year and I'm seriously out of shape and sick of it. I'm hoping the Fitbit will get me back on track, as I enjoy challenging myself en love tracking progress.

Will keep an eye on the forums (so far I've found quite a bit of useful information), perhaps make some friends (feel free to add) and who knows, one day I might even join one of the online challenges.

Hi there. I just bought a fit bit one a few days ago and it would be awesome to have some friends to help each other keep motivated. I am 46 years old and happily married to my hubby for 22 years. I usually walk 3 to 5 miles at a brisk pace up and down some pretty decent hills. I am looking forward to. Meeting some walking buddies!

I would say yes. I got mine during the trial and it worked when I would use it.  I've lost three dress sizes the healthy way.  I don't use any drugs and I'm not good with food deprivation :-).  So actually seeing the amount of my activity is a great motivator for me.

Oh my...well so long as it was worth it. You can smile about the
evening...hoping it was great despite the added weight...which is probably
a sign you're ovulation cycle is kicking in with that amount over night.
Sorry, I'm blunt. I'm 42...how young are you? Well good luck getting it
off again...I'm sure you will. Drink lots of water and don't forget to
replace your electrolytes! 🙂

Oh no! That is such a shame... I've not bought a HRM to be honest. I'll see how I get on. I did download HRM apps but haven't used them. I think I just need to take on less goals at a time so to work on my breathing and my running style before working on my 5K PB, which I reached before Christmas! I did a Park Run recently, and lets just say I need to work on my speed. I went all out and downloaded various apps to help with my pacing. My adrenaline after a run can take quite a while to settle down!

I thought Australian was an option on my Fitbit? I have to use MFP being in the UK and all. I don't mind though. I don't use MFP for anything else though, Fitbit seems more official, better community spirit, genuine people sharing information & supporting each other. Its great. However MFP community seems like its not worth the hassle. The forums are interesting... The set up on Fitbit is a lot better.

Hello All I have just bought my new fitbit flex it's been on my radar for sometime! I have just started at the gym after many years of zero exercise. I have enjoyed the fitbit app and wrist band so far and made 10,000 steps on my second day. Lets see if I can keep this going! I can see already how the wristband/app and website are a real motivator. I need to get fitter and loose 60 lbs!!

10,000 steps a day will only cost you money in replacement shoes. A good diet & the weight room is what you need.

I'm sorry but I disagree. Other than about 2-3 minutes of pushups in the morning, I've done nothing but put in my 10-15k steps per day and tracked my calories and have dropped 10 pounds since I got mine in February. The weight room is not a requirement.

Sorry Phazoni, I was being funny not serious, re new shoes. I climbed up and down 400 floors yesterday a 2,661 calerie burn, and I also lost another calerie scratching my nose half way ...
