Reviv - Talk about the height or irony, being struck by a weight loss doctor when you're struggling with weight management, etc.! But it sounds like you are really focused and serious to obtain success. Use your Fitbit to monitor you weekly totals in whatever form best suits you. Then gradually up things a bit in activities you enjoy. Be sure to mix it up like you've been doing and continue what motivates you, whether it be friendly competitors (online or local), a few more reps or whatever. Perhaps consulting with a trainer might help guide you on the path of success. You don't need to hire one full time but just to point you the right directions.

Hey guys! Just picked up my Charge HR today and I have to say, i'm impressed! At first glance I was only intrigued with the Dashboard. But after going through and adding things as the day went on, I can see how this becomes addictive very quickly. I'm already naturally active, but was looking for something more statistical and routine-like with heart rate and calories.

It looks like I will have to return this unit to bestbuy however, there appears to be a small blue triangle on the screen only noticable when it is lit. It's opaque but still somewhat annoying as a first day unit. This was the only Charge HR they had in the entire store left amazingly. Any idea on this? I can link a picture if that would help.

One other question, they only had a small. I don't have big wrists and it fits snug with 2 loops after closing. I can slide it up a few fingers above the wrist bone before it gets too tight. Do you think I should get a large?

Thanks for reading and to anyone who responds!

I had a charge that had screen problems within 4 days of purchase. I wrote to fibit and they replaced it, maybe its a manufacturing problem. Get a replacement before its too late.
I have no idea on your fitbit sizing though, I wear size small.

I am surprised how many people keep their activity private. Not critiszing, was just interested in other peoples activity. Most people keep all their stats private. Was just looking forward to share.

Best Answer

Well it's set to Private by default, even yours is private. Most people probably just don't change it.

Best Answer

Yeah under settings I changed it so yes I am surprised more people don't change it. No dramas if people want to keep their results private.

MikeCTolbert - Fitbit has on thier website as well as the tracker packaging guidelines for sizing. Note those are product specific; you cannot use the Surge guage for the Charge HR, etc. For my wife I wanted her to have the HR model as heart rate can be good for measureing activity effort as well as ease to track miminum heart rate, etc. She hasn't used near to its capabilities yet. But it has the potential. And for only $20. more, I felt it was worth the wait even if it was going to take 12 weeks.

I'm not familair what the triangle might be let alone what it might signify. If somewhat urgent, I'd advise you call 877.623.4997 (at least that's what I do here in the USA) for Fitbit Support. They may well be able to rectify the triangle issue immediately. Trade-in for another could be done through them as well -- and probably quicker if it needs to be ordered. Ordering my wife's Charge HR was estimated to be MONTHS to acquire, which was pretty much the same everywhere since she wanted one of the colored bands and not just black. NOBODY had them in stock. However, Fitbit fulfilled it in just a fraction of their estimated time.

Hi everyone - I just got my Charge HR the other day - got it set up and had my first "sleep" results.  It confirms what I have thought for a long time . ..  I am really restless at night.   I actually logged "steps" although I know I did not get up.  That was some major league thrashing . . .

Now to go to the gym and log my first gym session - this should be interesting!

Looking forward to sharing data finds . .  and routines ...  Thanks.

You should be able to change the sensitivity to movement if you want to lose the step tracking during your sleep (unless you're actually sleepwalking, in which case - you've earned it!) by going to Settings (gear-looking button on the top right of the dashboard page) then Devices, then scrolling down toward the bottom where it says Sleep Tracking.

If you are having very restless sleep you should consider having a sleep study conducted. I did and found that I stopped breathing numerous times during the night. I now use a CPAP and sleep better than I have ever slept in my life!
On another note, got my Surge in the mail today, charged it, and fired it up shortly after noon today. I can see where this could become addictive!!!

I purchased my Fitbit Zip on Friday and  believe it to be a good investment.  Many women in my Weight Watcher's meeting have one, including the leader. I hope it helps to motivate me to move more.

I just recieved my Fitbit Flex today, I'm excited to get started using it!  I used to have a Nike Fuelband, and after my 3rd one in less than 2 years quit on me I took it off.  I haven't had a tracker in 8 months or more and I've put on a little bit of weight, nothing crazy 7 pounds, but I want to lose 17 pounds so.....  Anyways, I found when I wear a tracker that it keeps me honest!
