Calories Burned Messed Up?

Could someone please explain why the calories count doesn't seem right?  One day I walked 6,385 steps, 2.58 miles, no active minutes, 10 floors.  Calories burned 2,086.  Next day I walked 8,509 steps, 3.44 miles, 1 active minute, 18 floors.  Calories burned 1,860.  So, doing less burns more calories?  Doesn't make sense.

Can you or someone help with the posts at the end of this thread not showing correct calories! This has just started last week!

Same here!  I workout with water Zumba 6X a week using the Swim counter (because I don't have access to Aerobics ??)  averaging 350calories per session. And last week they all went down to 87 or so calories per session. Even the old ones (back many weeks) were adjusted down. Wassup with that?

Well, I haven't figured out why Swimming doesn't work for me anymore -- but I've been choosing the "Workout" option and I'm back up to my regular calorie expended numbers. Wish now I could figure out a way to put Workout to the top of the Exercise list. Any suggestions appreciated!

Fitbit uses your vital information (height, weight, gender, age etc.) To
estimate your BMR. So, for me, thats about 70 calories an hour, just
existing (sleeping too) so an 8 hour sleep for me would be 560 cal. So its
actually very likely that you did burn 500 calories just sleeping.

My Fitbit does not have a calorie estimating setting, thus, I cannot disable.
