57 female
married 37 years to Ron and going to hit 70 if I take better care of myself-he's doing good
grandma who babysits, serves at church and teaches a few elective classes to home school kids in an ideal setting with only 10 students (totally blessed)
goal to lose 35 by June (says losing 1.5 pounds per week and don't get calorie count thing, says 866 total, yikes that is too little, am I missing something? I did say kinda of hard level.
want to participate in sprint tri for 2nd time much lighter!
like exercise but lack community
lack accountability and often don't care enough to stick with it (gift and curse of age)
Anyone want to make a group goal of sprint tri in Mission Bay, San Diego, CA and motivate each other? I am no expert but look up plans online to prep and would love to meet up 1x a month with a group and exercise together, talk goals and issues. It is a 500 yard swim in bay area, 10 mile bike ride on mostly flat area in bay and 5K that is to die for ocean views, which I walked the first time and finished next to last in my age group!

I am everywhere; yet I am nowhere. I am universal energy.
2.) My current health and fitness goals are to simply progress and grow my mind, body and soul.
3.) I like to stay fit by eating a balanced diet, staying active and reading daily. The mind, in my opinion, must first be fit with knowledge in order to be fit physically.
4.) Smiles. Smiles motivate me. Especially, the smile can only be viewed in a mirror’s reflection. Mine.
5.) I feel no guilt for any of the pleasures that make me happy.

Hi guys, I'd like to welcome every new member in this thread. Enjoyed everyone's posts! 😉
Have you looked inside you to see if something can really motivate you to drop the 50lbs? I'm sure you'll find it.
Love dark chocolate too @Madolynn0. Omg, you do Pilates? Is it that hard as I've heard? Don't like going to the gym, so I'm thinking of doing Pilates or yoga at home.
What potato chips are your favorites @MelissaFire? I bet you're going to end the 2020 looking at the mirror and feeling so proud of yourself, your health, and your body.
What kind of exercises do you have in mind to get stronger @brandonellefso?
Can you believe I don't like popcorn @ycjones? You are the first person I met that really loves popcorn and consider it as the guilty pleasure. 😎
Omg! I also love chocolate @R3AL, I guess I could eat it everyday.
Are you going to try any special diet @Suereachingyou to lose the 35 pounds by June? I don't like being on a diet (is not my thing), but have you heard about the Keto diet? I tried last year and I never felt like I was craving or dying for food. My boyfriend tried too, and he lose almost 25 pounds in 3 months.
I also feel motivated by other people that are trying to be fit. If you want to develop strength, have you tried Crossfit @WilliamsCamp2?
What's your favorite wine @Tbirdbiker? I can tell you love biking, your user name is bird biker! 😎
Loved your spirit and your 5 points @grlnxtd00r_154. You reminded me that I need to take care of myself and pleasure myself before to others.
I also hate workout out, that's why I never go to the gym.. but have you tried working out at home @TriciaPern? What reality tv is your favorite?
Hey @ItsMeKathleen, I feel the same way when I wish to be fitter. I agree with you, pizza and (in my case) Game of Thrones go well together lol.
856 miles @IrobBar? Wow that's awesome! Do you have a new goal for the 2020?
70 pounds @dangerousdon? That is really amazing, good job Don! Your haven't bored me, I liked your story. Loved your motivations and what you have in mind to achieve your goals. I also want to live a long life that is free of pain. I'm also afraid about the diabetes thing, my sister found out this year that she has pre-diabetes, it seems to be a hereditary thing, so think I should take some exams to see if I'm pre-diabetic.
I also watch success stories on YouTube, you feel really motivated. Have you surfed before @JogieBear?
Happy stepping!

I have heard of Keto
but
I also have heard that for women my age, it has hormone issues and causes cold sores and I have seen both of these in friends of mine.
Thanks for sharing and do argue with me!
My plan is to just get moving more regularly and make it a normal part of life, which I heard takes 66 days and the first 33 the hardest, then usually my food intake changes along the way.
I also like the idea of fasting schedules, so want to start with 8 eat, 16 off and then get started on the 6 on and 18 off....I think that idea comes more naturally to my lifestyle.
Any other thoughts welcomed!!!!!

Totally agree @Suereachingyou, it's very important to do some research before trying any diet and of course, talk to your doctor or nutritionist.
What are your plans? Doing exercises in the morning or at night? If you have a dog, you can do some dog walks. 😉 My friend @AlejandraFitbit takes short walks with her beagle named Gamora. She and Gamo stay fit.
I'm doing fasting again (gonna start with the Keto on Feb when my boyfriend comes back from a short trip), but I decided to start fasting so my body can start processing the change in my food habits. I'm with the 16hrs and I'm using the app called "Zero". You have 4 choices, starting from 13 hrs to 1-168 hrs.

@MarreFitbit thank you so much for your thoughtful reply. Getting tested is easy and shouldn't cost a lot with or without insurance. Make sure you see a doctor or (in my case) a nurse practitioner that you like and trust. A simple blood test can measure your insulin levels, HbA1c, fasting glucose levels, a metabolic panel as well as a lips panel. These will give you and your medical professional most of the information that you need!
Thanks again for the comment.
