Nice to see that you're digging into the Fitbit Forums @Sugarsmackdown, let me give you a warm welcome to our community. Sorry about this diagnosis, but I'm glad that your doctor already explained to you what you need to do! 🤗 Now that you have a plan, stick with it and give it time. Since your A1c level reflects your average blood sugar over several months, it might take some time for your A1c to drop. You won’t do everything perfectly, and that’s OK. Just keep moving in the direction you want to go in. And rest assured: Your A1c number will come down, and it’ll be worth it. 💃

😑😜🍛 It’s true that carbohydrates affect your blood sugar more than other nutrients you eat. Chances are that if you overdo starchy carbs on a regular basis, your A1c number will start to creep up. But remember, all carbs aren’t a problem. You want ones that have a lot of fiber and nutrients, more than those that just serve up starch. Experts advise filling about half your plate with vegetables that are low in starch, such as carrots, greens, zucchini, or tomatoes. One-quarter of your plate should be a lean protein like chicken or tofu, and the last quarter should be whole grains like brown rice or quinoa.

Find something you enjoy doing that gets your body moving, elliptical is a great choice to start. You can check this fun challenge and see how it works for you: Old School Zoom June 2021 Step Challenge and Photo.

Hi Lizfitbit, my name is Thomas Buckingham. I live in the Greater Metropolitan Washington DC area of our beautiful country. I love walking (lost 12 lbs. since getting serious in May, 2021. Now, it is a habit…a good habit.
I love to swim, dive, walk, of course. I have met new friends at the pool my family attends. I am getting to know my “FitBit Family here in Fairfax County. Virginia.

It’s getting a bit hot here, especially in our summers. The Gulf Stream guides our weather, so the temp. and humidity can put our “Heat Index at anywhere from 105’ to 120’. So early morning and after 7PM will be those times I will be walking the most.

It’s nice to meet you, Lizfitbit🤓

Scarily Fitbit,
I walk anywhere between 30,000 and 35,000 steps each day. So, why doe my next morning’s numbers look like yesterday’s numbers still?
There is a problem that is beginning to affect my motivation for even bothering to keep this up. Please give me your explanation for your reasoning behind this failure on your part to keep from “Bumping up” my totals? My goal of steps is 27,721 steps per day. I reach 33,620, and it doesn’t matter to you all. You keep my numbers lower anyway.
What’s the problem?
