My gym is a 3mile walk (5km) so 6miles total walking everyday, in this time ill listen to ebooks and podcasts and try to get my mindset right for my workout. This way i dont even have to do boring threadmill cardio for example in the gym and i can focus on the weights when im there. Also keeping a daily journal with personal goals that you can check every morning and evening is a helpfull tool to keep you working towards youre goals (think this i mentioned in of the videos you posted aswell). At last track youre progress consistently (take body measurements, photos etc) so you can compare yourself to you weeks back instead to others.
