Resting Heart Rate during COVID-19

Hello Fit Bit Community.

My question has to do with Resting Heart Rate. Prior to confinement, mine was a steady 59-61. However, since, it has risen to 68-70.  Is anyone else having this phenomena?

I am a regular Charge 3 user. I walk 6 miles daily and lift light weights 3 times a week. Height weight proportionate.  Here in France we have been under complete confinement for over a month. Due to my living circumstances in the countryside, I am able to exercise on my property but only go out into the world once every ten days for food. We are required to carry paperwork and there are regular controls by the police but everyone is efficient and polite.

I count myself extremely fortunate in that my retirement income is secure and while I don't have much extra, I don't have any health worries or financial worries. I mention this to clarify that I don't have any REAL problems or things to stress about in my personal life. However I do worry about the millions who are sick or without jobs.  I am trying to look at the news less...especially in my home country of the US...trying to limit to once or twice a day...

Hi @MNSLascours

I could easily see how a person's resting heart rate could increase during this time. Stress has a big effect on it, and the situation is the world today is fairly stressful. For many people it's not as easy to get the same amount and quality of exercise they usually do, and our lifestyles are in various stages of upheaval right now. It sounds like you're taking good steps to create as much peace and harmony in your life right now, which is the best we can do at the moment. Best of luck.

I had Covid-19 in August, i have been just the oppsite. My RHR average is 65-70 when i was healthy and dropped to low 50’s during Covid for a full 2 weeks. After recovery I am back to normal.

I have been having muscle aches for a few weeks now and beginning on 1/3/2022 my resting heart rate (normal~53bpm) started climbing about 1bpm everyday until it got to 60bpm.  During this time my muscle aches increased significantly until yesterday. Today I started feeling a little bit better and my resting heart rate has gone down a couple of bpm's. During this time, I have been running a low fever ~100.2F (Just started checking yesterday) and I have had night sweats along with a thick feeing mucus sore throat.  Today my wife had to go to the Health Food Store and her very knowledgeable clerk friend suggested I had Covid.🙄.  I can't find a home testing kit, so I guess I will start living like I have it.  I am 79.7 years old, and I feel much better today, than I have. Don't have time for this!
