Hello everyone! 😀
We all know how important and vital it is to feel inspired in order to reach our fitness goals, and unfortunately many great achievements never get the proper recognition. Great achievements in life require you to challenge yourself in difficult situations and overcome obstacles.
Considering how feeling inspired can have an impact on our lives and the goals that are more important to us, it'd be great if you can share your experiences on this new topic, replying to the following question: What has been your greatest achievement since you started using your Fitbit? I think we can definitely motivate and learn from each other by reading other people's stories and struggles.
Personally, I wasn't very interested in fitness when I started using Fitbit 5 years ago, but logging my food and seeing my daily calories and steps helped me to be more conscious and develop a sense of urgency to be more healthy that I really didn't have before. I started slowly and allowed my body to get used to the intensity of the workouts, then I started to focus on short and long term goals, and eventually I was able to loose 30 pounds in a relatively short period of time.
I think the most important aspect for me has been to be more aware of what I eat and the activities I do everyday. It has helped me not only to follow a healthy diet, but to turn it into a lifestyle, a healthier one without a doubt. 😁
I'll just tag a few of you so we can start off the discussion, but we'd love to hear about experiences and achievements from everyone!!

Thank you for tagging me, I have been on for a couple of days, i've been tracking my food, and started to eat healthier!
My greatest achievement would be learning to eat healthier, I was 3 months premature, so I weighed 1pound, so we didn't worry too much about my weight, then I went to the docter and I was 79.0 pounds, then a month later I went back, and I was 85.3. So I got on, and didn't set a weight goal, just kept track. I weigh 100, but a month ago I was 110. So I have lost 10 pounds. That's a lot of information that no one really needed to know about.

On a very personal level my greatest achievement was getting my autoimmune disease in control. I have substantially lower my levels, slowing the damage down and feel great. My blood work is only slightly off normal 😊. Honestly, I now have more energy than some “healthy” people I know.

@WendyB Cardiac Hill 964 foot elevation gain is impressive. Sounds like it is quite steep.

@SeashoreRoseYes it was steep and pretty scary at some points. But there were 5 of us and we helped each other

Thank you for sharing this achievement @SeashoreRose!!
My father has some health problems as well (disc desiccation), and I've seen how the motivation from Fitbit has allowed him to be more active and improve his condition too. 🤓

I was a dancer for most of my childhood and young adult life - until I had a spinal fusion at age 15.
Over the years, my spine has been deteriorating around the fusion, unbeknownst to me until a few years ago when the pain started and has increased tenfold as it's gotten worse.
In March of this year, I received an SNRB injection in my lower back. A month later, I walked, with the best pair of sneakers I ever owned, La Sportiva Bushido IIs (I have to shout out these AMAZING sneakers), and my trekking poles, and I did a 7.5 mile hike, almost continuously, around a large pond in a state park near me, with my best friend.
For me this was huge because, I wasn't able to walk more then a block without severe pain. I also did it with only my calves being a little sore after.

Thank you for taking the time to share your story with us @kayakgirl017! It's inspiring to see how other people deal with different conditions and pain, and it's great to see how they overcome obstacles to get back on track. 😁

Being more aware of my health and habits, learning about my data, and making changes here and there through making better lifestyle choices. This has led to me getting up earlier to squeeze in pre-work jogs and weights, so that I have improved overall wellbeing for the rest of the day. As long as I don't get too obsessed (!), I hope to model good habits to my growing son to help his own wellbeing.

It is great to hear, you're making some positive changes. Like me being aware of my health and habits, learning the data has truly changed the way I am approaching my lifestyle and health. I believe everything in life is a balance. 😀 Having balanced healthy life could be my greatest achievement. I personally still have a way to go. I am working on it. It sounds like you are too. Enjoy the journey.

That's great @nottelling! I think that's the best way to go about Fitness, just focusing on developing healthy habits and not getting too obsessed, while reaching your goals at the same time. 😀

By far my greatest accomplishment has been running my first (and only so far..) half marathon. I was slow, but I ran/jogged the whole way and didn’t stop once. I’ve never been more proud of myself.

Definitely not an easy thing to do, but I'd love to be able to run a marathon this year a well.
