Did you mean:

You know you're a Fitbit addict when...

  • You pace the house to get to a particular figure before going to bed
  • You sit down when recharging as you don't want to 'waste' any steps
  • You park further away from the shops to gain extra steps

You Get annoyed because FitBit does not have an oficial App for Windows 8 Phone. Arrgggggggggghhhh!!!! All day without syncing will just have to quit my Job!  Come On FitBit what about the Windows 8 Phone Users?

Best Answer

I got really annoyed at someone today really negative about Fitbit! The person probably hasn't even seeked support from fitbit and is pointlessly complaining about his/her product.

NOTHING will make me be negative about my fitbit 🙂 I will stand my ground and defend it! I'll do 5k today... did I 3/4 hour run/walk yesterday!!

@Hats26

Spoken like a true addict! Your enthusiasm alone ought to convince people to give it a try.

I was at the health food store the other day and the owner patted me on the back and said how great I looked. I went in for some supplements and to share my recent blood work results. Of course, being spring, my Flex was more visible on my wrist and I said that much of my improvement was due to it and these forums.

Addicts never miss a chance to share their addiction!

Ha ha! THANK YOU! Indeed, when I have time I do like to go all out on these forums. It hurts when you realise you cannot help change someone's mind. I literally told the person to contact fitbit company and to quit the attitude. If someone gives up on fitbit, we don't need them upsetting true and loyal fitbitters! Ha ha. Fitbit keeps us motivated, reminds us when we've not done any exercise and I love tracking what I do. I have to admit I am a yo yo when it comes to motivation, which is one of the many reasons why fitbit is super brilliant. It didn't take me long to get premium either..

Very sadly, I haven't seen anyone in Edinburgh with a fitbit device. HOWEVER, just received a text from my friend who has said she'll buy one! YES, I have finally convincced someone. This is really amazing.

Feeling super pleased.. Just got the Tempo Runner rank today 🙂 yay! I'm a big fan of the ranks!

Brilliant story, wonderful when the exercise truly pulls off that people compliment you. I've kinda had the opposite affect unfortunately from my work colleagues. The occasional remarks and all that, but I ignore them 🙂 I am convinced I've influenced my boss though to get fit. Perhaps its wishful thinking.

Ha ha indeed... May the addicts continue to share the love of their Fitbits! I certainly love that we all share such positivity! This helps us all to feel happier, keep motivated and positive. There is a lot to say about this wonderful community.

I so agree with you!  I just got my Fitbit Flex (3 days ago) and I did pace around the house to meet my step goal! Great addiction to have!  Glad I'm not the only one!

I'm rather confused @Odyssey13 but to put it humorously:

You know when you're an addict when...

Someone thinks you work for Fitbit and they private message you asking for help?!

Either that or I have no idea who/what/when/why & how...! I thought of you and considered that this might have happened to you seein as you're one of the top members when it comes to the community?? I'll reply to the message soon, once I get my head round it.

@Hats26Keep following the path you set out on and others will either tag along or get lost as you step it up!

People see you want to help and they hope to get a sympathetic ear. Answer people as you are able, but don't stress over it.

Find yourself looking at people for possible converts to our addiction? Your boss might have to give in and get a FitBit, too!

Indeed. Ha ha  I hope so @Odyssey13

Within my morning from Edinburgh to London I'm pleased to say:

1. Offically converted a friend Natascha S (for some reason I cannot tag her yet, possibly because she has literally just bought a Flex!) Super exciting.

2. Spoken to a woman about Fitbit when she admired my effort and determination to get one hand luggage suitcase & hold luggage (16kg- not horrendous but a healthy weight) up/down various flights of stairs. I was quite surprised myself to be honest, but I swapped the suitcases round to give each arm a break. A man even asked if I was okay & if I needed help. Nice for people to care like that. If it was 20kg, I'd probably have said yes!

A friends hen do this weekend and I'm making brownies so I'm going to run to the shops 🙂

When you make everyone walk with you so you can get your steps for the day 🙂

Best Answer

When you make sure you go up and down flights of stairs during the day for no better reason than that you want the stairs to record for your floors

When you know you are running close on steps, calories burned, etc.,, and you go back to work out to make sure you earn at least that number of calories....

Yup, in one week, I am an addict!

@Hats26Addicts do get excited and repeat themselves.

My apologies to the guy in the red sports car yesterday. I was checking his left wrist to see if one of the many bands he wore was a FitBit. Sad to say, none of them were.

Costco is carrying the black Flex now. $94.99 USD and a huge display of them. Almost tempted, but I have plenty of bands! Addicts just can't get enough.

I have both a Flex and a Force.  I prefer the Force.  Even though I'm a fitbit addict, I can only use one of them at a time.  I hope they come up with a replacement for the Force soon.
