I just bought a fitbit one and it will add a lot of steps while I am driving around at work. Anything I can do to stop this from happening or should I just take it back. I mean if I am getting an extra 2000 steps just from driving its pointless owning one

Hi, @Nibrocmc, that's a little unusual for the One -- it is more common in the wrist worn trackers in my experience.  I would suggest if you are wearing it on a hip or back pocket to clip it somewhere higher on your body if possible -- but always making sure it isn't bouncing about.

If that doesn't help, I notice that you are using an Android device.  In that case you can download a free app called DriveBit that will automatically create a driving activity for you on your activity log.  Creating a driving activity will negate any steps picked up in the time.  I have tried DriveBit, and it works very well.

You can also create the driving activity manually yourself.  Instructions here.

I hope this helps.  Welcome to the Community!
