Brand new FITbit one won’t turn on

Just purchased a brand new, in the box, Fitbit one. I lost my old one. However, I put it on charge overnight and it won’t turn on. I have tried a different charger but still no success.

Hi @BAM23  the One was retired well over two years ago, so any new in the box device is at least that old. Are you able to do a restart of it at all? The latest firmware for the One is 6.64 if you're able to get it to come to life. If you can't get it going, any chance you can return it where you purchased it?

Thanks for the reply. It’s a shame it was retired as I have a nice watch, I don’t want to wear another watch type device. I had the Fitbit one previously so wanted to stick with it because I like that I can just stick it on my pocket. 

Unfortunately, it just won’t turn on at all. It was in a sealed box so I was thinking it should be as good as it would have been when it was manufactured.

Sad to say there is no way of knowing how it was stored, too. If you want a clip on, there is the Inspire, which has an optional clip. Never had a One, but from all the posts from people who loved theirs, I really feel like I missed out on something special!

I have exactly the same issue.  I loved the One for all the mentioned reasons. I bought a new boxed One that I found languishing in a country shop.  Happy to have a back up.  Will not charge. 

Likely to be a battery issue after sitting for so long. There is a break down on the web about changing the battery but pretty technical and difficult.

I had the same issue. Charged it overnight and will not turn on. Tried the restart to no avail.

My old one shows the new version (6.64) on the screen when I try to turn it on, but won't go any further. Again, I tried the restart to no avail. I've had the old one for about 8 years and loved it.

I purchased thru ebay and fortunately was able to get a refund.

I totally understand your frustration, can't forget about the One and only either...

If you are sure the problem is a death battery then it is possible to change it. Just go to this thread and maybe take a shot at it.

I love my One(s).  Lost it and bought a replacement on Ebay which is currently working.  Then I found the old 'one' clipped to a pair of pants in my closet and was so excited when it took a full charge.  However, it will not turn on despite restart attempts.  I may try to replace the battery, but just not sure that is the issue.  😓
