My Fitbit One has worked well for years, but recently some issues have arisen. Tapping on the little button no longer shows the recorded data such as steps, floors, etc. Instead, I have to press & hold the button for a few seconds. At that point, the screen reads "FITBIT 6.64". Then, I can tap the button & see the data, but the data is all wrong. It starts by randomly showing some incorrect time of day, which I have to correct by manually re-syncing the device. Also, it shows step counts that are clearly inaccurate. Yesterday, for example, I walked 18 miles on a trail and my Fitbit One showed only 484 steps. Because the time was off, I thought perhaps the correct steps were recorded on the wrong day, but, no, the steps were simply never recorded on the device or on my dashboard. This series of problems has repeated over the last few days. How do I fix this?

It is getting worse. Entire days of walking are recorded as 30 steps or not at all. The time keeps randomly changing. It is a complete disaster. Does anyone ever respond to these posts?

My Fitbit One is malfunctioning in every way. I posted a question on this forum and no one has responded at all. Is there some magic way to get a response directly from Fitbit?

Hi @FriskeyLiskey did you see the banner at the top of the One page?
"This forum is available for customer-to-customer support, but isn’t actively monitored by Fitbit Moderators. If you need further assistance, please visit our help site"
The One user manual and related help articles are here - click to go there.
Firmware version 6.64 is the latest for your device. As it's been retired, I doubt more firmware updates will be forthcoming. Sometimes doing a restart a few times will help, but it's hard to tell. Try restarting it several times and see if it makes any difference in the steps being recognized.

According to the help manual, you're supposed to try restarting it. However, I'm having a similar issue and my one didn't restart at all.

I have restarted it multiple times, but it just won't work. Today, I walked over 10,000 steps, but my Fitbit One says I walked a total of only 46 steps. It also keeps messing up the time of day and fails to sync. It has become useless and frustrating. Other than your reply saying you are having the same issue as I am, the only response I have received is a snarky reply directing me to the help site, which, of course, is where I started without finding anything useful.

@FriskeyLiskey @lynx4 Thanks for stopping by!
Let me help you with your Fitbit One not working, as @lynx4 mentioned the best thing you can do is to restart your tracker so please try it by following these instructions. @lynx4 since the issue persists I have created a ticket so our Support team can further assist you via email
Also @FriskeyLiskey I want to clarify that @Odyssey13 is just trying to help and said the truth. This board isn't monitored by Fitbit Moderators so it is rare to get a reply from us here. If you need further assistance you can reach out to our Support team here.
Let me know how it goes.

I'm having the exact same problem. It will be working fine and then for some reason in the middle of the day it will turn itself off and stop tracking. I have to long-press the button to turn it back on, at which point it displays the wrong time. Very frustrating. It's fully charged and has been reset. Is it simply too old to work reliably now?

@FriskeyLiskey did you ever get with support as Moderator @AlvaroFitbit suggested?
@kmilano sometimes these devices do reach the end of their life. All you can do is restart it and hope that it keeps working. Some people have replaced the batteries in the One, but that would require a third party seller of batteries and some manual dexterity.
