Button unresponsive for Fitbit One

Today, my Fitbit One stopped working properly.  When you press the button nothing happens.  It is still tracking, and if I plug it in or move it after it's been sitting still, it will illuminate; but it doesn't respond to anything if you press the button.  Can't get it to restart without pressing the button either.

I contacted Costumer Service, but they just suggested cleaning it and restarting, which didn't work.  Then, offered some amount off for a replacement.

My question:  has anyone had one of these things work for more than 2 years?  Or is this a $99 per year investment?  I'll use it as long as it's tracking, I guess, but it's got me rethinking how much I'd be willing to pay for another one.

2 years is a good run if you ask me.

Mine has lasted a bit longer. But I know its out of warranty and would go with the discount when its time.

Mine quit yesterday but it has nearly three years on it.  Trying to "restart" has no effect.  I was working in wet condtions and went running during a rainstorm.  That hasn't been a factor before, but who knows.  Don't know what I'll replace it witj.

Same thing happened to me about 2 weeks ago. Still tracking steps, buttons non responsive, will not reset. I've had mine for about 2 years. Do not want to buy a new one. I wonder if they can be fixed? It doesn't look like they come apart easy. I was thinking of removing the battery, if I can ever figure how to open the **ahem** thing up without distroying the outer casing.

Hey guys! it's nice to see you around the Community! Robot LOL

@STrooper well, in your case, if your tracker is not even restarting it, then I suggest you to get in touch with Fitbit Support. They will give you an alternative solution for this.

@Slambo Please don't remove the battery! You can permanently damage the tracker. I recommend you to contact Fitbit Support. I can't guarantee it can be fixed, but pretty sure they will find another solution for you.

Let me know the outcome!

Hi, thanks for reaching out. I've already contacted Fitbit tech support. Well... I think that the tech I'm communicating with either has a reading comprehension problem, or perhaps English is their 2nd language. I explained everything in detail in my first email and it seemed as if they didn't even read my text. After telling them that I tried the reset procedure, they told me to try the reset procedure, while ignoring my request to have them look at it. I asked them a 2nd time and their response was that my unit is broke and I need to buy a new one. WTF??? So I guess I purchased a $100.00 throwaway unit. This is the worst excuse for tech support I've ever seen.

Must be the full moon my 20 month old Fitbit One stopped responding today, however I think it is still tracking. Tried the reset, nothing. Emailed the support team and hope they have a solution. It has not been wet or abused so I am at a loss why it stopped working without warning. I have received excellent customer service in the past and feel confident I will have a response soon. May be time for the Alta, just wished it counted stairs.

Wow that is definitely not great tech support or customer service. i think you just got a horrible tech person that you had to deal with. I had my one over 2 years when mine was not keeping a charge and tech support was incredibly helpful and when it was still not keeping a charge the replace mine for free even though it was out of warranty and I was totally expecting to have to buy a new one. I am sorry for you experience.

Well, after several horrible email exchanges, where they were telling me
how they value me as a customer, yet wanted to do nothing to help me, I
decided to place a negative comment on the Fitbit One Facebook page. After
this, they quickly offered me an apology and are sending me a replacement.
My unit is over 2 years old and I understand it is out of warranty. I
offered to pay for a repair but they ignored this request until the Facebook
post.
