My old Fitbit One displays calories burned, but my new one doesn't. Why?

Ah, that makes sense.
If your original One is working ok and has all the categories then I would carry on using that. If it should start misfunctioning again then perhaps switch over to the replacement and if some of the categories are missing then you should be able to add them as previously mentioned.
Note that if you do swap them, make sure you sync the current fitbit first otherwise you may lose some data that had been tracked but not yet synced to the dashboard.

It may be turned off in your device settings.
Go to https://www.fitbit.com/settings/device and check the "tap display" option, making sure calories is set to On.

Although it's possible to have multiple fitbits connected to an account, they have to be different types of fitbit. So, you can't have 2 fitbit Ones connected.
I think what's happening is that when you added the second fitbit it replaced the original. The original one, no longer connected to an account, doesn't have all the categories.
Can I ask why you would want 2 fitbit Ones connected?

Thank you for the info, Steve.
You may certainly ask why I want more than one Fitbit One, Steve, and I will attempt to give an honest and straightforward answer. A year or more ago my original Fitbit One, which had all the categories, began to act crazy. I fully charged it and tried to reset it several times with no luck. Finally it went black and wouldn’t do anything. I called customer service and they tried to help me on line - nothing worked. The rep did some checking on his end and came back on line to tell me that it looked like the Fitbit had some internal error so they were sending a new one which I should receive within a couple days. I couldn’t imagine living without my Fitbit One for even one day so I kept trying to use my defective one but, even though the screen display did come back, it just wouldn’t work consistently.
My new Fitbit One did arrive. Immediately I noticed that it didn’t have as many display categories as my original one, and I couldn’t find any way to add them in. BUT it did work well so I stuck the old one in my drawer and forgot about it. I always carried my iPhone with me so I could see the missing categories on that - a nuisance but doable!
Last week I wanted to buy my granddaughter Beth a Fitbit One for her birthday plus some of the accessories. The Fitbit One wasn’t going to arrive in time so, as a long shot experiment, I took the old Fitbit one out of my drawer and tried charging it. It charged up fine and seemed to be working well so I planned to give that one to Beth to use until her new one arrived. As it turned out, the gift Fitbit One arrived in time for the birthday party so I still have my original. I’d like to use it since it has more categories and put away its replacement as a back-up.
Both of my Fitbit Ones are working right now and the computer is recognizing the one with all the categories displayed - my original one.
Should I take that one off my account, and if I do, will the replacement allow me to add the categories it is missing?
Thanks so much for your discussion. You are very helpful!
