Did sleep mode mess up my step count?

I've had my FB One for a few years and just getting back to using it regularly.  I used sleep mode for the first time last night and think it might have messed up my step count this morning.  I went on a 45 min. 2.5 mi walk...about 3/4 the way through, I glanced at my FB1 and was up to about 3000 steps.  But when I got home and everything synced, my dashboard has me at 1819 steps and .86 miles.  Super disappointed!  What did I do wrong?  I logged the exercise on MFP so i'm assuming the calories are correct (I was wearin a HR monitor, too).  Suggestions?  Thanks!

Hey there @ElizaHL! You are seeing a difference in steps from your tracker and then after syncing because you are logging exercise from MFP, when you do so the manual log overrides the info reported by your tracker.

Also, when you say you were using an HR monitor, are you referring to a Fitbit tracker? If so, please check this article about using multiple devices.
