Do I Risk the Firmware Upgrade?

Thanks to the kindness of a friend who has sold me her One (for a reasonable used device price instead of the crazy prices I've seen on Ebay and Amazon), it looks like I'll be staying with Fitbit for a bit longer (although I am getting my competitor product tomorrow and will be running them side by side, so we will see what happens there). Anyway, I am being notified now of the 6.64 Firmware update. I don't recall doing this on my old device, but maybe I did and was just lucky because I didn't have the same problems I see a lot of people were having. So, here's my question, do I do the firmware update and risk having some of the problems others had when they updated, or do I not touch this precious One and hope that it will last me until Fitbit releases or I find a viable replacement?

That's quite an old update now and has been well tested. The release notes at https://help.fitbit.com/articles/en_US/Help_article/1372/ suggest that this update includes a "critical security update". For that reason alone I think it's worth doing the update.

@dleighb Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for taking the time to post on this thread regarding the One's latest firmware update.

Please check the release notes that @SteveH shared on his post above. You will see what the update includes.

If you happen to decide to do the update, please follow the steps on this article. This should help you out in doing the update correctly.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy
