Hello; I just got a brand new Fitbit One and I synced it to my device and charged the battery however once I took it off the charger it won’t turn on and when I plug it back I get the message Fitbit 6.64 then the charging bar. What is the solution to this problem?

Hi @Ajgrant new? They stopped making these a few years ago. The latest firmware for the One is 6.64 the charging bar or might it be the updating progress?

I know they don’t make them anymore but I just got mine new and unopened from eBay. So is there anyway to resolve the fact it won’t work? Or did I just waste my money on something that is never going to work?

The issue is the battery, after 4 years they fail. I have seen so many people get screwed because they buy a new one online and it wont work after the 1st or 2nd charge.
That is why I help people out and sell them with better bigger batteries. It is such a shame they stop making the Fitbit one, as I believe it was their best product ever.

This may not work, but I hope it's worth mentioning. We had an original Kindle that would not recharge and now it's fine....
Find your USB plug-in adapter with the HIGHEST amp rating (ex: 0.5A 1.0A, 2.0A, 2.4A...) and try charging it for several hours. This might push more power into the fitbit battery and give it new life. (There might be limiting circuitry in the charging cable that will cause this to not work, no I can't be sure it will help)

I've taken my Fitbit out of storage, updated the software and resync'd, but all I get in the display is Fitbit 6.64 and a pic of the fully charged battery. I'll be interested in a solution as well. Thanks

@missymissyb your battery is dead. Anything with LiPo batteries just sitting unused will slowly drain to the point of not being able to hold a charge. These batteries generally last 3 years, and the fact that many people still have functional ones from 2013 doesn't mean they'll all work. As @menorevs mentioned, it's simply a dead battery.
@Ajgrant did you end up returning or repairing the dead One you purchased?
Some sellers on eBay are offering free returns on new/unused Ones. Alternately, there are sellers offering refurbished units, giving you the advantage of something that's not only been tested but updated to last for years.
If you want to keep a *spare* One for the future, you must exercise the battery with charging and discharging. Unfortunately, storing it unused will result in an unusable dead battery.
