Ok. I know it was a big mistake but I accidentally took my One in the ocean. After discovering this, and since i was on vacation with no access to normal things like rice etc. I left my One in the sun for 5 days. Then I put the One in some DampRid (a desiccant) last night. I brought it to work with me today. It will now display when connected to the charger but doesn't seem to charge the battery at all.
Any ideas?

Here are some tips for cleaning the contacts if that might be your problem.

Update on my progress. It's strange, while in the charger the screen shows the battery fully charged. But as soon as I remove it from the charge I get nothing. The other interesting thing is that my blue tooth does find the One while it is in the charger. I have suspicion that the battery is completely shot.
I cleaned the contacts off as was suggested. That seemed to make it so the display when attached to the charger changed from the appearance of zero charged battery to the appearance of a fully charged battery.
I have been a FitBit One user since 2012 and have logged over 25,000,000 steps. I really like the One and don't want anything else. I tried the Surge and it was OK but I prefer the One by far. I have a nasty habit of losing these dang things. this is the first one that i have damaged. I think i have purchased about 7 or 8 of these. Ebay is my only source now.....
Please help!

@mobriscoe Welcome to the Fitbit forums! Thanks for taking the time to post the experience you have had with your One being washed at the ocean and for trying the steps provided on this thread. Thanks for sharing the workaround you have done to remove the moisture in it in order to sort this out.
In this case, you might like to try to restart your One. This could help you out with this.
Thanks for being such a long time Fitbit user.
Let me know how it goes!
