My One lately discharges completely overnight just sitting on a bedstand. Is there anything I can do to be sure it is shut down more completely?

This tracker is almost 10 years old! There is no shutdown option and has reached it's life cycle. Please get a new tracker. The Inspire 2 can be worn the same way with an accessory clip.

Dont like having to clip and un-clip the new version. It takes linger and is not easy to do with long fingernails.

@wrkeen I'd have to agree with @SunsetRunner, it's time to consider a new tracker. However, technically, it's possible to modify a Fitbit one to shut down, unfortunately, it would involve physically entering the unit to alter the wiring. Specifically, if you create a switch on the positive battery wire, removing power even temporarily will shut down the tracker, and allow you to turn it back on by pushing the button, however, if you're technical enough to open your Fitbit One and do this, then you should just replace the battery and not play around with creating a switch for your dying battery. Installing a battery is very easy and there are many guides in this forum detailing the step-by-step process. @Dajamoo I'm unsure which "new Fitbit One" you're referring to, perhaps you mean to say you're using a clip with your Inspire or a different model?
