Hi @Toristreasures  where did you get the Fitbit One? It was retired in 2017 and is no longer made or under warranty. It's possible that the battery has completely died in it. Have you been able to see any steps on the device or the app?

@nightrunner15  you can only download the app that is for your specific operating system. Right now, Android 9 is the minimum system that works. What do you have?

Hi again, I have a galaxy 6.0.1 phone, and a NEW apple laptop.  I am thinking of getting a new devise anyway.

@nightrunner15  the newer Fitbits require a compatible Android or iOS device, too.

I have the same problem. Just purchased a "new" in box Fitbit One since my current Fitbit One would no longer charge. The newest one syncs and I updated the firmware just fine, but it won't show steps, etc. on the screen at all. The battery says it's full and it says that on the Fitbit dashboard after I added it to my account. Help!

@NewbieOldie why are you putting new in quotation marks? Is there something illegitimate regarding your purchase or was it an opened box that was sold to you as new? Those quotes are really confusing. I'm going to go ahead and assume you bought this from an online marketplace like Facebook, OfferUp, or eBay? Only making these assumptions as you've not shared the source and most people wouldn't be willing to shell out $300 on Amazon. Regardless, you bought a dead One*. By sitting unused in the box for years it lost a little bit of chargeable battery life just from sitting dormant and unfortunately is now useless. The reason the battery shows full in the app is that that's what the One is telling it when you sync. The reason the One says full is it's on the charger, it's not actually telling you what the battery life is. If you bought it from eBay, you can return it for another that works.

I have a Fitbit One 6.64, but it doesn't work anymore, when I first bought it it worked very well at first, but I let it sitting for very long and now it doesn't turn on. Where do I change the battery?.

@Lupita64 the Fitbit One isn't a user-serviceable device by design. Unless familiar with using a soldering iron and working on small electronics, installing a new battery isn't for you. If you'd like to tackle this anyway, I'd recommend first repairing an old pair of Bluetooth headphones or something or get a practicing soldering kit so you don't destroy your One. If you choose to continue this path, you can peruse my previous posts, and ask questions, as well as read the well-illustrated step-by-step guide you can find in this forum written by @PureEvil. His method is different than mine, but my post as well as the other how-to guides have been destroyed ambiguously by Fitbit moderators, unfortunately. Perhaps review different people's methods and decide which is for you. Or ... buy a new tracker 😉

@Lupita64 you're welcome. it's definitely the easiest option. if shopping on eBay, make sure you're buying from reputable sellers who offer returns should you experience issues 🤓

ps. don't throw out your old One.
