There have been older posts about this issue, but nothing current. My Fitbit One is showing phantom steps. The problem started one week ago (Sunday March 14). I restarted the Fitbit and it was fine and counted correctly all week until today, Sunday March 21. The device showed exactly 0 steps when I picked it up first thing in the morning and a realistic 1100 or so steps until I synced it, then it showed over 41,000 steps after syncing before 9:00 a.m. on a lazy Sunday morning. Something seems amiss with the application. My sync was with my Android phone... after syncing, the Fitbit showed the 41k steps instead of the actually detected 1100 steps. For some reason, it is pushing data from the Fitbit site to the device which is the only thing that should be providing data.
