Fitbit One no longer Synching again [RESOLVED]

I only sync on my computer (Windows 7 Home Premium), I do not use a phone.

A while ago my Fitbit One stopped syncing (I did all the recommendations of unistall, reinstall, restarting the FitBit numerous times) & it became very frustrating, then suddenly it started syncing automatically (I think FitBit did something) but I could not force the sync.  I have lived with not being able to force the sync for months now & just carried on, but as of yesterday at 16:19 Fitbit stopped syncing automatically again!  Why oh why do I carry on using FitBit, can anyone aswer me lol Smiley Frustrated

I can see the screen you posted, and when I click on 'Sync', it shows a circle trying to find the fitbit.  It then says on the next screen-try again.  Same results.  Then it said 'no dongle', well the dongle was there and the device was right on top of it.  Then it says the standard info on how to restart device. Sometimes the fitbit icon at the top of my screen shows an exclamation sign, so I restart the device go through every thing.  Restart my Mac and still same results.  I only have a laptop, no phone no bluetooth etc.  One thing today though it said that it updated 'x' minutes ago, so apparently it is registering my steps, but even with all of that nonesense-rebooting, restarting, changing dongle port, it's up in the air whether or not it will sync on any given day.

I will keep Syncing manually but it would be nice for the automitica sync to work.

Thanks for at least working/checking on the issue. Will stay tuned for updates on resolution.

I'm having the exact same syncing issue as everyone else. I have a One and it stopped automatically syncing around a week ago to my laptop. When I use the Connect Software to try to force a sync by clicking on sync now, I get a window that comes up "Searching for Fitbit tracker...make sure it is close to your computer". I can literally put the tracker right next to the USB dongle and it will not find the tracker. After around 30-45 seconds, I get a message "now working? if there are other trackers nearby, move them away, make sure your tracker is close to your computer, if your tracker is connected to a nearby mobile device, disable Bluetooth, etc".  I have disabled bluetooth on my cell and this doesn't help. I've tried logging out of the Fitbit app on my cell and disabling bluetooth and even turned the cell off as suggested by Fitbit help desk in an email. I have even uninstalled and reinstalled the Connect software. I have also reset (or restarted) the Fitbit where you have to plug in the charger and the fitbit and hold down the button on the One for around 12-14 seconds, then unplug it, then push the button to turn it back on. I would then try to manually sync by clicking on sync now in the Connect software and would get the same messages described. Once in a blue moon... if I am lucky... the One might sync to the laptop if I do this. The One is currently syncing most of the time with my cell phone though.I have emailed Fitbit Customer Support and they had me reset (restart) the fitbit. I told them that didn't work and they responded with a silly message about helping me fix my band that was peeling (made no sense at all - I think they copied and pasted something and didn't pay attention to what they were doing). I emailed them back telling them I didn't have a band problem and that my One was not synching. There solution was to tell me they would ship me a new One. That was yesterday so I don't know if getting a new One will solve this problem. Being that so many people are having issues though, it does seem like a software issue on Fitbit's side.

It's a miracle. Seems to be syncing steps as well as calories. Was only the latter for a few days, which was Alice in Wonderland level weird.

Thanks for the confirmation, everyone. It looks like this issue was caused by a release that took place last week, which we have now reverted. The background syncing problem should now be resolved, and you should see your device sync normally again.

Thanks for your patience and communication around this - there were lots of really helpful posts in this thread that facilitated this fix.

If anyone is still having trouble with background sync in particular, please don't hesitate to let me know. If you are having trouble with other types of syncing, please check out this help article.

@MatthewFitbit   Thank you!  We've been having this converstation for seven days without you. You show up, wave your magic Fitwand and now it's fixed 🙂  Mine just synched automatically for the first time since 10/24! Woohoo!

Thanks for writing in. I've been so busy answering the door for tall the trick or treaters I had no idea it was working again. After reading you post, I went to my Fitbit program and was shocker when it showed it had synced 6 minutes earlier (when I sat down at the computer) and my phone wasn't even in the same room.
So Hallelujah ... Fitbit got their act together.
Thanks again for posting.

Thank you Fit bit for fixing the problem.

I have Windows 7 Professional. This is the third go-round of no syncing, dongle not connected (it is!), cannot find a Fitbit. First time was last year. Got it fixed through customer support with a lot of trying this and that. Then it stopped syncing again at the beginning of summer. Then again last week and several days sporadically thereafter. I followed the steps I took the first time, and it did sync--once. I have since updated the firmware and software, reset my Fitbit, deleted Fitbit from my computer and reinstalled it, and it did sync--once. It last synced on Friday evening, when I went to my Downloads folder and double clicked on the Fitbit .exe file; it started the installation process. Then I got to a window where "Remove" was the only viable option. I clicked on "Cancel", then "Finish" at the next window, and the computer found my Fitbit and did a sync. No sync since. I restarted my Fitbit, tried syncing from the system tray repeatedly--no go. I did the same thing just now that I did on Friday and got the same result. I presume I will have to do this every time I want it to sync. But at least it works. A royal pain, but it works. Hopefully this will help someone else.

Alas, my fitbit is till not syncing and the fitbit icon is again not appearing on my toolbar. It looks as though I still need to uninstall, then reinstall the program to get it to sync. I don't know why it seems to be working now for others but not for me.

@MatthewFitbit  My system is now syncing automatically, too.  Thank you for getting on top of this issue.  I was wondering if the Flash security release from last week might have caused the problem.  I've been having general issues with Chrome ever since that release.  But apparently this was not the issue.  I wish it was because I would ask you how you managed to revert back!

Anyway, thank you, again, for working this out.

Thank you Matthew (and background team).

I had been able to manually sync successfully throughout the problem (Win 7 Enterprise), just not automatically, but it sync'd straight away on startup this morning. I waited for a while (and walked

about to ensure the numbers would change) then checked again an hour later and yes, it seems

to be working fine - back to normal.

Thanks for getting this done - it is so much more convenient than manual re-syncs!

Thanks also to all of you in the Fitbit One community here for the assurance that it wasn't just me,

my laptop or my Fitbit having a sulk. Best of luck in your steps!
