I have had a fitbit one for 4-5 years and love that I can conceal it in my clothes. I prefer not to wear an activity tracker on my wrist. My current fitbit is just not holding a charge like it used to. I would love it if you could bring back the fitbit one or maybe incorporate a removable tracker that can go into a wristband or just in a pocket.
Thanks!
Sheryl

As far as I know you can still buy one. I bought one a few weeks ago to save for a backup

Mine was three years old (not even that as it was replaced once) I liked it because I can have issues with wearing things on my wrist. Actually purchased a Garmin yesterday and today the first day wearing it I have been itching the wrist it is on :-(. Guess I will be returning it.

I have had a One for about 5 years also and it is the perfect product for me. Small, limited to the features I want and relatively inexpensive. I will say that FitBit has been very service oriented to me by replacing some of the Ones they have sent me. I believe that over the years I have paid for two and received six. That does not sound so good for FitBit, but good for me. However, they replaced them because they were defective in some way, not because I lost or damaged them. The older ones held charges for about two weeks and always synched immediately; the newer ones hold a charge for two days and often do not synch regularly.
I am looking at several options and will perhaps buy the Charge 2 and a magnetic clip sold by Amazon. I really like the stairs climbed feature which is not available on the Alta or on the Flex 2.

Likewise, I prefer to wear my tracker in my pocket. My husband cannot wear anything on his wrist at work either. We were both dedicated fitbit One users for years and never had issue. Recently, his would not hold a charge so we replaced it with the only clip tracker available from fitbit, the zip. What a joke in comparison, I am shocked they would discontinue the One over the zip.
I'll be hanging onto my One until it too, will not hold a charge, then I may be retiring my fitbit as well and look for a comparable replacement.

They are asking over $200 per device on Amazon now! I want another one but not for that price!!

Hopefully fitbit takes notice! They are all over ebay too ranging between $160-$200+ I would never pay that much either.

In light of the discontinuation of the Fitbit One, I find it ironic that when I log in to the Fitbit dashboard site I get the following message: "Love your Fitbit One? Do us a favor and add a rating and review at Amazon." At the prices (noted in this string and elsewhere) for which the remaining One products are being offered on Amazon, and given Fitbit's decision not to continue to offer the product, I am not tempted in the slightest to offer a rating and review. Anyone else notice the same thing? Feel the same way?
Truth be told, each time I see the request on the Fitbit site, it renews my anger at the firm's failure to continue to offer the One. No doubt that's an irrational reaction on my part. But if a number of us feel this way, Fitbit might want to remove the request from the dashboard home page.

You are not alone! There is an entire thread of unhappy customers complaining about the One being done. https://community.fitbit.com/t5/One/One-Availability-and-Alternatives/td-p/2271754
I bought an aftermarket clip and stole my son's Alta just to try it out side-by-side with my One (which is still working for now, but I admit I panicked when I heard it was discontinued). For me, the Alta in a clip worn on the torso will be an acceptable alternative ... although I'll miss the "flights" feature, it's not a deal breaker for me.
I did a blog post about my experiment ...

Thanks, ScrapjenB. I did participate in the other thread on the discontinuation of the One device. It is sad--and frustrating. I just wanted to note here that it is a bit like "rubbing our noses in it" to ask that we review on Amazon the device we love that they are discontinuing . . . . It just seems wrong-headed. Especially so since I understand that Amazon sellers are now charging a premium for the product since it is no longer being sold by Fitbit. [sigh] Just a bit of venting on my part, I guess.
And I really appreciate the link to your One/Alta experiment. Super helpful for me. Like you, I will continue to wear my One until it wears out. But I may also be OK with the Alta--not as good, but perhaps adequate for my needs. But when the time comes, I also will compare it with other vendors' devices. The market seems to be evolving, and I doubt that Fitbit's abandonment of manufacturing of the One will go unnoticed!
Happy holidays.
