Fitbit one not counting all steps

My Fitbit keeps changing times and I have to re-sync it to get the time corrected but recently it has not been counting steps. I can go for an hour walk which is usually about 8000 steps and it says 250...what is wrong? It's several years old but I've never had a problem with it before.

You say its several years old? It could be dying they do not last forever. Might be time for another

You can restart it many times. But I think its the age of it
