Fitbit one resetting steps midday

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
My Fitbit one seems to be counting my steps accurately the first part of the day. In the middle of the day I'll look at it and it seems to have reset and I'll be back at under 100 steps. I've synced it, the time is correct and all the settings. Any ideas?

Try a restart. Sometimes doing it a few times helps. You need to see the Version flash on the unit or it did not take.

Hi @Tbarkley8180. A successful restart as suggested by my friend @WendyB would result in Fitbit 6.60 showing up on your One's display. If it doesn't work, try it again but this time hold the button down a little longer, 15-20 seconds if need be.

If you're still experiencing the issue following a successful restart, perhaps you could check your time zone settings again by clicking here Settings and scrolling down the page a bit until you come to the Time heading. If the time zone is correctly set, change it to something completely different, force a sync and sign-off your account. Then sign back on again and change it back to the correct time zone and again force a sync.

Please tell me this - is it only the step count that resets by midday or do all your metrics reset?

The other possibility also is that you may have logged an activity manually which has nullified your step count. Have you logged anything manually?

How do you record activity manually?  That may be what I accidentally did this morning.  My fit bit showed my steps, and then went back to 300.  The steps from my workout were still logged in my challenge and week count, but they were not showing  up in my dashboard any more.

Hi @gunnisteps. I can't tell from your post which device you're using to sync and look at your dashboard. But if you're using a web browser to navigate to www.fitbit.com and sign-on to your account, you can click/tap on the [Log] - [Activities] tabs and scroll down the page a bit until you come to the [Log Activities] window. You can select one of the icons if a proper match to your activity or use the query window to query the activities database. If your activity is not on the database, you can create your own, using your favorite web site to determine the caloric burn. I personally like the calories burned calculators at www.healthstatus.com, which I find to be quite accurate.

If you're not using a computer or if you're using an app, you may or may not have that same functionality. So I tend to stick to the legacy Fitbit Connect program which works well for me.

Hope this helps. Have a nice day.
