Fitbit one stopped syncing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I’ve followed all the suggestions to sync my Fitbit one but it still won’t work. I’ve also tried deleting the app on my phone and reinstalling it. I’d be grateful for some help please?

I tried to reply to the other posts on here with the same issue but I could not get the reply option to work

Mine stopped syncing two days ago also.

There are several tips on resetting in this forum worth trying. My personal favorite is simply disabling Bluetooth on my phone and having Fitbit turn it back on. This fixes sync errors for me probably 9/10 times. Sometimes the Bluetooth module on the tracker itself can fail and if this happens, nothing in the world will get it syncing again. You'll have to replace it. I have some Fitbit Ones that have bad Bluetooth. They appear to work perfectly fine, logging steps, etc. and nice long battery lives but can't sync without Bluetooth. Try all the reset options (holding button while inserting into charger, etc). and if it doesn't work, try a Bluetooth scanner app like "Find my Fitbit" and see if the One can even be detected by Bluetooth and rule this out as a potential issue before driving yourself insane.

I have mine working again.
Had to use the USB dongle for it to sync.

I still can't get it to pair with Bluetooth on this lappy, on my older lappy its no problem.

It was updated to this firmware before it would sync.

YW. It's a weird fix but always works for me and glad it did for you too. Have a great stepping week!

@COMPUTIAC I think you mean to say you updated your app? That's not a version number associated with One firmware.

The app had already been updated.
The firmware update was for the USB dongle, it would not work unless I let the firmware update be applied.

@COMPUTIAC I'll more assuredly see your messages if you use @ as I had here in my reply to you. I think you still are meaning to say you updated your app, the Windows 10 app happens to have the version 2.44.1997 that you posted. I've never heard of a firmware being released for the dongle. I'm running Windows 10 app version 2.44.1997 (64029). There are options to check for updates on most of my trackers (it's not showing the Versa, Ionic, Surge, or Inspire on this list) but there's no place to check for updates on the dongle. It's basically a Bluetooth adapter, and you can use any Bluetooth adapter in its place (or not even use it on a laptop with Bluetooth). You updated your Windows app and things work again. Fantastic! afdadfadsfsadf.JPG

I think I found what the firmware update was :
My one was on 6.60 since I bought it a few years ago , now its on 6.64.
It was not for the dongle, my mistake.

@COMPUTIAC all good my friend, I'm just psyched to learn your One works again! Many people in this forum suspect the 6.64 updates contain nefarious code that causes the One to not work, which is silly. The update actually improves overall battery life. Keep smiling and keep stepping!

Same here.  My One last synced last the evening of the 24th and nothing I do is changing this.

@Kittymisty perhaps try removing the tracker from your account and then re-adding it back, if that doesn't work, try from a different device. Download a Bluetooth finder like find my Fitbit app and see if Bluetooth is working. the One is 8 years old and parts can fail, it's not common but I've had some situations when Bluetooth dies. rare, but real.

I really appreciate your suggestions. Tried what you suggested. Unfortunately, nothing so far has worked. My Fitbit currently seems undiscoverable through Bluetooth on both my Android and Surface. I’m out of town right now and will return on Wednesday to try yet again. Will keep you posted,

@Kittymisty you're welcome. That's super unfortunate about the One. If the Bluetooth finder isn't seeing it, then the Bluetooth functionality has probably stopped working. I've got a beautiful One that this happened to, it goes for days between charges, tracks steps, but can't ever sync. Perhaps try a few other Bluetooth finder apps before giving up. Worst case, you can find brand new and refurbished or used Ones on eBay. They're out of warranty, but some sellers offer their own.

Okay, I’ve done absolutely everything suggested and neither my Surface nor my Android will any longer recognize my One at all. I even put in the dongle to see if that helped. It’s over. And I’m so sad (play funeral dirge). I don’t think there are any other devices out there that are as accurate for those of us who don’t want to wear something on a wrist. Will obsess for a while, but I already really miss my One. Thanks for your good efforts in trying to fix the unfixable. ☹

Don't give up yet.
On the lappy, try removing > then reinstalling the fitbit app > be sure to restart the lappy between removing and installing.
Be sure you One is on firmware  6.64.

Lastly, try removing the dongle a few times > restarting between.

I really appreciate the never give up attitude. Unfortunately, neither my Android nor my Surface recognize my tracker no matter how I’ve tried. I just can’t get them to identify it even after uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting, inserting and removing the dongle, and spending so much time on it that I’m beginning to question my sanity, a little. So, I guess I’ll still wear the broken little thing that records but connects to nothing until I decide what to do next. Many sincere thanks for your efforts and good ideas!

One last thing to check.

In Windows 10 >
When you open > Settings > Bluetooth & others devices >
Does the dongle show like the second pic ?

In the Fifbit app, check to be sure it is set to classic > like this.
This enables the dongle.

Sadly it doesn't show up at all. A while ago there was a message indicating that the USB device was not recognized.
