I synced my Fitbit one earlier and the sync took half my steps away from today and it wiped out previous days to "0". What's going on???

Hello @Rorochic,

Welcome to the community!

Is there any chance that this occured?

  1. You allowed the battery on your Fitbit to completely run down.
  2. You charged it back up again.
  3. You started using it before syncing.

If this is what happened then I have good news and bad news.

Good news:  You got credit for every single step.

Bad news:  Those steps were listed on the wrong day.

Explanation:  The moment your Fitbit loses its charge it stops keeping time.  The moment you charge it back up, it's much like a wall clock...  It continues to keep time right where it left off.  So if that was a week ago, those steps were added to that day a week ago.

So in order to prevent this in the future.  If your battery runs all the way down again, sync it before you start using it...  Or better yet, just don't allow the battery to run down all the way.

I hope this helps.
