Hi moreteaplease!
Yep! It is very poor at counting stairs, which means the calories allocated
for a flight of stairs are meaningless, which means any attempt of calorie
counting is pointless. I gave up with calories a long time ago as the
normal inaccuracies associated with this type of device are exaggerated by
the defect in counting stairs. The other night I burned a huge number of
calories while I was asleep! This defect has only happened twice to date.
Also, the 300,000 steps the device clocked up before the device was
delivered to me (even though the packaging was intact and One switched
off), are still in my history, and account for 20% of my total steps to
date, and diminishing. Will be 10% by the end of 12 months.
I still have to place my One nestled in my clean socks overnight, otherwise
I get steps accumulating while I sleep.
The fact that there is no easy way to delete dodgy floors, iffy steps and
crazy calories means that correcting these errors is more trouble than its
worth. I only use my One for steps now, which is fairly reliable.
Had to laugh the other day, as I got my Hot Air Balloon Badge!!

@moreteaplease - the floors metric is ignored with respect to how many calories you burn for the day.  So, at least from that perspective, if you get "fake" floors, it doesn't matter.

Even though I don't get "calorie credit" for the floors I do, I know it is better exercise than taking the elevator, or ride my bike on flat as opposed to hilly routes (which gives counts floors).  Every now and then I get extra floors because a weather front is moving through changing the barometric pressure, but it is usually obvious when that has occurred, so I know whether I've done the work or not.  For most days, though, having the counter helps meet my goal of 50 floors/day.

@moreteaplease thanks for stopping by and for troubleshooting beforehand! Hey, as a last resort could you please try setting up your tracker as a new one but without unpairing it first. To do so, please check out this post by my good friend and colleague @SantiRSmiley Happy

Good luck and let me know how it goes!
