I just got one and I want to know when it will be ready to use and how often should I charge it.

Thanks!

14 days is about the maximum people get but it can be less depending how it's used.

I like to charge mine at a set time once a week (Saturday mornings). This gives me a routine that I'm less likely to forget and there's no risk of running out of battery between charges.

2 to 3 times a week. It's great how long it lasts. Even when battery is low you get a day out of it

Do you mean "how often do you charge your One"?

I have to charge my One about every 14 days. Is that not the 'normal' duration for the battery?

I think you might be the person to answert my question.  How many years have you been using your One before you reach the point where the battery needs daily charging?

My One is nearly 4 years old and my battery has not degraded. I charge it weekly but it could last longer. However, I have several fitbits so don't use the One every day. I have seen posts where a One has lasted longer than mine and I have seen posts where people have had battery issues after a couple of years. It seems to vary a lot.

If you are having battery problems and are still within the warranty period then fitbit will usually replace it for you.

@ehofke,

Here are some hard numbers...

Ordered Fitbit One on July 2013, so 21 months ago...  And as it happens, I wait for the low battery notifications to fire before I charge so, my last three notifications:

  • April 20th
  • April 10th
  • April 3rd

So even coming up on four years, I still get 7-10 days charge...  And I've been getting 10k steps pretty consistently during that time.

I hope this helps.

My One is from February 2016.

Normally it has to be charged every 14 days. I used to get the alerts of "battery low", but that's not the case every time. I have had some issues with the One some time ago, where the battery was not working well. And now I had a problem last week, where there was no registration on the display. It said "0" steps, stairs, etc. while I was walking. Next moment it was completely "out" so I looked on this community for help and followed the advice of resetting the One.
