This part of the process is where it's easy to go wrong:
"Once you're there, type 'Driving' in the search bar from the Log Activities section. Just like this:
Click on the Driving option"
If you accidentally click return rather than click on driving in the purple box is creates a custom activity that will not negate the steps but if you do click on the "driving" in the purple box then it uses the pre-defined driving activity and that will (or at least should) negate the steps.

@SteveH you, Sir, are a star. That's what I needed after a day's truck driving awarded me 23,000 steps and more stairs than I've ever been up.
