Stair tracking

My Fitbit One is tracking everything as stairs. Yesterday it said I had 41 flights. I probably had 5-6. This morning it already says 10 and I really have 3. What is causing this?

Different possible reasons.  Because it uses a barometer to figure out whether you've "elevated" while walking, it can pick up false stairs as barometric pressure changes due to weather changes (some people say wind affects it, but since wind comes about as barometric pressure changes ...).  And, of course, it doesn't just measure actual floors, but any change in elevation while you are moving, such as hills while walking outside.

But it is basically a mini computer which means it can glitch too.  If that's what is going on, you can fix it by restarting.  Plug it into the charger and hold down the button for 10-15 sec until you see the fitbit logo or firmware number appear on the screen.  Although one restart should be enough, it is smart to do it three times to make sure it takes.

Let us know if that helps.
