Hello guys, hope you're doing great today ! In case you need to restart your Fitbit One, you will find the steps below:
- Plug your charging cable into your computer.
- Plug your Fitbit One tracker into the charging cable, making sure that the gold contacts on your tracker align with the gold contacts in the inside of the charger.
- Hold down your tracker's button for 10-12 seconds.
- Remove your tracker from the charging cable and press its button until the screen turns on.
Your tracker should now work normally.

Here's an update. Nothing (the restarts, etc) fixed it. My Fitbit had served me well. I was offered a 30% discount from Fitbit on an Inspire (similar belt type). Ultimately just found a used One online. Back in business. Sorry for the bad news.

I tried restarting my fitibit one as directed. When i held the button down (after inserting the fitbit correctly into the charging cable), the stopwatch started after a couple of seconds. When I took the fitbit out (15 seconds total holding the button down), the stopwatch display appeared & was still ticking.
How do I avoid starting the stopwatch?

As far as I know (from doing it often enough) the stopwatch shouldn't turn on while it's plugged into the charging cable. Perhaps hold the button down longer. If it works, the device should remain unlit after you unplug it. Then once you hold the button down for roughly 3-4 seconds it should come on showing the firmware version number. If you don't see the version number it probably wasn't reset.

The part I hate about it is... It takes away all the steps my One has and matches my primary tracker 😞
This morning, I had over 6k steps on my One and now it's down to 4k to match my Versa instead of adding those 2k+ steps to my total.

Thank you...that actually worked! Now help me figure out why it keeps counting many floors when I live in a one story house!
