For the second time in a year I lost my Fitbit One. When I go to replace it, I see the major local stores, Target, Walmart, Best Buy no longer carry it and even on Amazon, only the black model readily available. Is the Fitbit One being discontinued and if so, is it being replaced?

I realized that the way I feel about the demise of Fitbit One is similar to the way I felt about one of my favorite restaurants closing. They had a good run, I'm glad I enjoyed it, sorry to see you go.
Its not not the end of the world. I ordered a Misfit Shine 2. It's not the same, but it's pretty and water resistant. You can carry it in your pocket.
Because my FitBit One is only a few weeks old and is a replacement for one that was less than a year old, will FitBit give me a new device such as the Zip? I do not like wrist devices and truly like the One. However, recently it has stopped syncing regularly and the battery runs out very quickly. I am very sorry you will not be carrying it any more.

Best AnswerI too love the One because it's a clip on. I do not want a wrist tracker. The Zip is definitely not an acceptable replacement. My first Fitbit was a Zip, and it is in no way comparable to the One. It doesn't have as many features and it uses up batteries really fast. I prefer the rechargeable One. Please listen to your loyal customers and either offer a clip on of higher quality than the Zip, or don't discontinue the One. And why is this thread marked as solved? Your answer solves nothing!
Well I love my FitBit one, so i decided to get a backup. Of course all the stores that used to carry this product no longer have it. But I went into the Fitbit store and they still sell them, so I ordered a new one to have as a back up. I arrived within a week.
Sad to hear this - hopefully my One will last a while longer because I will not use a wrist based tracker. They just aren't accurate enough for me and not anywhere near as convenient as far as I'm concerned.
I moved up to the One from the Zip because of the charging capability of the One. The Zip was going through about 2 batteries a month....
Guess I'll have to find another tracker to use. 😞
I love my fitbit one but it has given up after a long period of use. I would like a tracker with more functionality than the other clip on but I don't really want to wear one on my wrist perminently. I have worn my 'one' attached to my bra every day since I got it. What do you suggest?
The Flex 2 is a possible option although I wouldn't buy any accessories for it through Fitbit because they are waaaaaaaaaaay over priced ....
The Flex2 doesn't have any numeric display just lights, but it is water resistant and you can hang it in a pendant around your neck or get a magnetic clip to use it on your waist (or elsewhere).
Here's a list of accessories from Amazon:
Personally, I'd rather see them get rid of the Zip, I'd look to another brand altogether but I use Vitality as part of my health insurance and they allow me to earn points every day for my steps. I'm sort of stuck because they only work with a few brands. Maybe I'll get lucky and my One will last another 3 or 4 years 🙂
The Alta HR is another option. I don't have one, but I have a friend who does and she just drops it in her bra during the day. She says it always tests 100 percent accurate in her bra, but always undercounts her steps by about 20 percent on her wrist. You can buy a clip for the Alta on Amazon if you don't want to keep the wristband in your bra.
On the other hand, the Alta doesn't count stairs, which is a big minus for me.
Will Fitbit be coming out with another clip on rechargeable fitness tracker? A lot of people prefer the clip on trackers and not the wrist trackers. The main plus for the ONE is that it is rechargeable and it would clip on your waist or bra. I’ve had 2 of the Zip trackers and the battery does not last long! Fitbit is a great company and I hope they will hear the cries of the people! PLEASE make another tracker like the ONE!!
This morning I went on a run with my dogs. I wore my Fitbit One on my waistband, I wore my daughters Fitbit Charge 2 on my left wrist (This hand holds the dog leashes) and I wore my sons Surge on my rhigt hand. (This hand carries the poop sack sometime through the run. Just like the old cross country days, I counted my steps. I'm sure this is 100% accurate. The following is the result:
Counted steps = 7,240.
Fitbit One Steps = 7,139 - 98.6% accruacy.
Fitbit Charge 2 on left hand holding leash = 5,941 - 82.1% accuracy
Fibit Surge on right hand = 6,393 - 88.3% accuracy.
I believe the Surge and Charge are likely about as accurate because my right hand was carrying the load of swinging up until I needed to use that hand to hold a sack.
I bought the 2 Fitbits for my kids, so it is not because I'm cheap that I prefer the One. I want accuracy and I don't get it from a wrist worn device at this time and I want stairs or floors climbed to track my elevation change.
My perfect product would be a device that can be clipped or worn where I want it, augmented by a wrist device I could wear when I want to.
Thanks for the information. I have often wondered what the accuracy rate was on the FitBit on. I think we are flogging a dead dog at this point in time. I have received so many replies on the subject of the Fitbit One, but I don't think that anyone is listening to the masses. I would buy another one if I knew for sure that the device would still be supported on the Fitbit Website and on the Dashboard, but I have my doubts that that will be the case once it is discontinued. I guess I will keep looking. My daughter has the ShineMisfit and likes it but I don't care for the fact that there is no way to check the steps unless you look on your phone.
don't you just love it at the top the the page it say with a green check mark problem solved . I don't think so everyone want to keep their clip on for one reason or another but I do not think FitBit is listening to ALL of Us
Please The people , Ceo's and alll involved making Fitbit please listen to us we want a clip on. You need to listen to the people who put $$ in your company and your pockets .
You are right. The problem is far from being solved. I guess FitBit just doesn't care. It makes me sad as I have had my Fitbit for 4 years without an issue.
