Is logging a walk as activity duplicating steps?

Hi, my daughter thinks that adding a walk to my activity log is duplicating the steps that have been counted. I prefer to log my walks as an activity because it's nice to see a variety of exercise rather than just steps, and it also gives the chance to show different speeds too. Is she right to say I'm cheating?

Yes she is right.

Why not use the Button on the One itself when you begin the exercise. Then push it in when done.

It creates a nice record on your activity page that shows you what you need,

Same way as how you record sleep. It does both exercise and sleep

Hi Wendy - may I ask you, if I do a Zumba class and start the timer at the beginning and stop it at the end, do I still need to entre it as an activity manually? I've had my One about 4 months but just been using it to count steps, have not yet entered any activity so want to make sure I don't duplicate info.

@PoshPawsThe only activity you need to log will be not step based, Swiming, yoga, weights wtc

Zumba is step based so it should not be logged. Using the Start/Stop does it for you

Really? I just logged a walk using that method and it showed 4200 steps but my overall for the day so far is only 4600. Surely if it doubled the steps then my step count would be showing 8400+
