My fitbit one went completely dark. It does not even light up when I try to charge it. My dashboard reads "battery empty" What does this mean?

Try a different USB Port to see if it will charge.

I tried charging from my computer in different ports and from a wall
outlet. Nothing ever lite up. On my fitbit dashboard it reads "battery
empty". Guessing it just ran out of juice. Gave up and bought myself an
Alta HR. Felt naked last night without one. Have been wearing one since
January 2012. Thank you for your response.
