New Fitbit One won't sync

Yesterday my Fitbit one started turning itself off all the time. Since I dropped it on the floor by accident and it is a couple of years old, I assumed it was about to die, so I got a new Fitbit One today.
But after replacing the old with the new One, everytime I sync, the step count resets to the last step count of my old Fitbit.
I've tried removing and then adding the Fitbit, but that didn't resolve it.
I'm in a Stepbet, so I need my Fitbit to work properly!!
Any help is appreciated!

My problem was solved after the step count was reset at midnight. Now everything works fine.

Mine stopped syncing today after I charged it.  I have deleted the app.  Restarted my phone and downloaded the app again.

 

I did everything the app said to do and it cannot find my fitbit.  The fitbit is tracking my steps but it won't sync with my phone.
