No display, not holding charge, not syncing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.
The smallest part of my One clip ( the bottom of it) came off and is lost. In the meantime, my Fitbit is not holding a battery charge, AND the display is not showing anything. I can intermittently sync only when I plug it in to charge it. I have tried to re-set it, per recommendations on the help page. None of this is helping. I don't know if the missing clip piece is related to this or if it is just weird timing. What do I do next?

Hello @Kbathe, welcome to our Fitbit community my friend. Well rest assure the missing clip is not affecting the battery, the bad news is that you have two different issues on your hands with your One.

Regarding the battery make sure is charging properly the charging cable. One of the reasons are dirty charging contacts, try to  use hand sanitizer and a tissue or dampen a cotton swab with rubbing alcohol and carefully clean the charging contacts on your tracker and charger.

Keep in mind each alarm reduces battery life by small percentage. To maximize battery life, consider setting fewer alarms is is the case. Frequently pressing the button to check your statistics or the time may reduce the battery life too. Also if you're syncing with a device, the Always Connected option may reduce battery life.

If the issue persist even trying the previous suggestion please take a moment to reach out to our Support Team and let them know of your efforts to troubleshoot the issue and what you've already done. Don't forget to mention your belt clip has a missing part too. They will be able to advise you of the next steps after reviewing your device history with you.

Hope this helps and let me know how it goes.Robot wink

Welcome to the Community @Kbathe! Actually the fact that the bottom of your clip fell off doesn't have anything to do with those issues. Regarding the display and syncing issues, I would like you to perform a restart of it by following the instructions on this post.

Now, regarding the battery, please review the following tips to make the battery of your One last longer:

- Each alarm reduces battery life by small percentage. To maximize battery life, consider setting fewer alarms.
- Frequently pressing the button to check your statistics or the time may reduce the battery life.
- If you're syncing with an Android device, the Always Connected option may reduce battery life.
- If you're syncing with any Fitbit app, the All-Day sync option may reduce battery life.
- Charging your tracker in extreme heat or cold may reduce battery life.

Try those steps and let me know how it goes! Woman Very Happy

My one stopped synching too, and battery drained overnight. I've concluded it's due to software updates being distributed worldwide no doubt. That takes time and I'm sure part of the process includes stopping comm of tracker & app, applying updates, draining battery to force restart which then loads updates to it after charging. Lastly it restores comm & synching. Relax & leave it alone, you'll stress less!

No- display still no working at all. It always says the battery is empty, yet it is tracking my steps- not stairs, but steps. I can get updates on my phone if I do a mobile tracker update. No one has offered any help, so I'm wondering what the point of this forum is. Pretty frustrating.,,

I'm not having any problems - I've discovered the source of the not synching
issue. It's due to software updates and the process it takes to distribute
the updates to all the users, be it world-wide or just the US. 1)
Communication between the app and the tracker is disabled.

2) The updates are distributed. Some updates take longer to distribute
than others.

3) There is some means by which the tracker battery is drained.

4) Communication is re-enabled between device and app.

5) Updates are loaded to the tracker upon charging.

Everything returns to normal. My way of dealing with it now is to ignore
the situation, charge up my device and no worries, no sweat.

Thank you so much for this collaboration @Dishman! I appreciate you have shared this with the Community. As you mentioned, sometimes it takes more time to sync your tracker when you recently updated the Fitbit app or the tracker itself. So that is why we suggest some tips to complete the syncing process.

It's great to hear that you get back on track!

Have an awesome week! Smiley Very Happy
